Great job! I hope you don't mind I posted it here. I knew your name was Dan, but I had no idea you were that Dan.

We love the lost by sharing all of God's truths with them everywhere they apply. We don't love them by being the number one manufacturer of fig leaves so they can cover up their nakedness before God.

Ps. 119:97-100 O how I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.
Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, For they are ever mine. I have more insight than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation.
I understand more than the aged, Because I have observed Your precepts.

It's God's wisdom, not ours. While it is true that God's enemies are our mission field, that doesn't mean we have to help them hide from God's truth.

Eek....gotta run.

"Mind" you pointing a few more readers my way? Heavens, no. Thanks!

It is funny, though, I have been pinged to a few threads of my essays, where I had the impression that no one knew that I was me.

Pity blog essays are in a bit of a ghetto here, though.

"I would also go so far as to say any religious person that answers the call to "witness" should at least stop long enough to seriously think about what it means, the best way to do it and what possible effect good or bad it has on the religion in question and people both saved and unsaved."

I agree with the general gist of what you are saying, however all Christians are called to preach the Gospel.

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

The word for preach, kerusso, means to proclaim openly. To proclaim means to speak. Too many people, think if they just live according to the teachings of Christ that that is good enough. It is not.

I think people avoid proclaiming/witnessing/preaching Jesus, because they don't want the attention, or don't want to give a bad response to a question. The thing is that no one is perfect or has all the answers to peoples question, except for Jesus.

When people point out my sins when I'm proclaiming Jesus, it helps me to bring those sins under examination and it helps them see that Jesus isn't seeking perfect people. As to not knowing the answers, just promise to look into it and get back with them (then do that).

As to giving bad or imperfect responses, always point them to the Gospel, for it is through the Gospel that the Holy Spirit can work on their soul.

People can't believe without the Holy Spirit, they can't be convicted by the Holy Spirit unless they hear the Word of God, and the can't hear the word of God unless someone tells (preaches) them.

Rom 10:13-15a For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
And how shall they preach, except they be sent?

Sincerely

Question: Which act of terror will the mythical "evangelical Christian" "militia" perform before Mrs. Clinton inauguration in 2008?

Doesn't matter. They'll pull a Reichstag fire if they have to, if nothing else comes up. If you pay attention, you can already see the scapegoating starting.
