That would be your assessment of the quality of the content of what I was supposedly taught and would not answer my question. I asked nothing about what you thought of the supposed content and asked directly about HOW you think I was taught. Will you answer the question or will continue to evade?

What do you make of Matthew 26:17 where it says that on the first day of the feast of unleavened bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked him: where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

How can it be the first day of unleavened bread and still Passover has not been eaten? Were the Jews starting the feast of Unleavened Bread a couple days earlier for some reason, and then celebrating the Passover in the middle of it? How does this jive with the Levitical instructions?

[Matthew 26:17] And on the first [day] of the unleavened food came the disciples near to Jesus, saying to him, 'Where wilt thou [that] we may prepare for thee to eat the passover. The word day is added. It is not in the original Greek.

There were actually two preparation days for unleavened bread and the term "On the First of Unleavened" could mean Monday (the 13th) as folks were busy ridding their homes of leavened and generally preparing for the observance. I believe the Last Supper was a meatless Seder celebrated with the Essene community (the upper room) and shall attempt here to convince you.

[John 13:26-29] Jesus answered, He it is, to whom I shall give a sop, when I have dipped it. And when he had dipped the sop, he gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, And after the sop Satan entered into him. Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly. Now no man at the table knew for what intent he spake this unto him. For some of them thought, because Judas had the bag, that Jesus had said unto him, Buy those things that we have need of against the feast; or, that he should give something to the poor.

Now you have to ask yourself, why would they think he would be buying something for the feast....if they were currently eating the feast? This shows that the Apostles knew that they were not eating the Passover. The day or two before the Passover is called the days of preparation and they were obviously....still preparing.

[Matthew 26:26][Mark 14:22][Luke 22:19][I Corinthians 11:23-28]. All of these verses deal with the bread and wine served at the Last Supper. If you check the Peshitta Aramaic and the Hebrew version of the Aramaic and the Greek Manuscripts you will see that this is "lakhma"/Peshitta; halekhem/Hebrew; and arton/Greek....all leavened bread. Regular bread was not served at Passover.

The Holy Spirit did not inspire one of the Gospel writers to call this a Passover Seder. The upper room had been obtained to prepare for the Passover as Jesus said He desired to eat with his disciples [Luke 22:15], but knowing He was to be the sacrifice the next day....knew he would not.

[John 18:28] Then led they Jesus from Caiaphas unto the hall of judgment: and it was early; and they themselves went not into the judgment hall, lest they should be defiled; but that they might eat the passover. This is now the 14th....early in the morning and later that day the lambs would be slaughtered "between the evenings" (3:00 P.M.) as would Our Lord. He had eaten the previous evening with his disciples in the upper room.....a Last Supper....not a Passover Seder.

I'm glad you included the Protestants too. I'm afraid some take this as anti Catholic and it isn't.

Sorry about taking so long to get back. Busy.....busy.

I normally include the Protestants by calling the Subject "The Main Stream Church". They really are just as guilty of the same things the Romans are in most areas. There's really not that much difference in the Easter Celebration anyway...that's for sure!
