A board member of the homosexual-rights group Equality California has sent an email to a Sacramento-based pro-family organization calling it bigoted and divisive and threatening, If you continue your efforts, we will BURY you."
Capitol Resource Institute made the email public after receiving it from Equality California board member Ben Patrick Johnson following a five-minute debate on the Fox News Channel between the Institutes Karen England and Seth Kilbourn, Equality Californias political director, over a bill pending in the California legislature that would prohibit the use of any materials in the public schools that reflect negatively on the homosexual lifestyle.
For a group that purports to expand tolerance and civil rights, Equality California is not practicing what it preaches, Capitol Resource Institute noted in an email sent yesterday to its supporters.
Here is the text of Johnsons message, according to the Institute:
Dear colleagues at the Capitol Resource Institute,
I am a firm supporter of freedom of speech, and therefore I support yours, even if it is in direct contrast with my own. However, we all use the media and the internet to spread our message: and with no hubris intended, I advise you -- if you continue your efforts, we will BURY you... with public opinion, with media, and ultimately with legislation. EQCA passed NINE bills last year to protect basic dignities and we have every intention of yours going down, as have others who oppose decency and human rights.
Today, over 150,000 Californians will receive the following message via email blast, MySpace, YouTube, and iTunes -- in other words, we're everywhere. I invite you to subscribe to my daily webcast, not because you agree with what I/we have to say, but for your own information... so you can see what thousands of Californians are hearing and seeing about you.
Caveat emptor, my brothers and sisters in a struggle to do what each of us feels is right... even when we disagree!
Ben Patrick Johnson
Board Member, EQCA
Capitol Resource Institute checked Johnsons web site, as he suggested, and said Johnson in a video diatribe described CRI as "hate peddlers" and "conservative, religious prejudice peddlers." In addition, Johnson described CRI members as "smirky, self-righteous folks" who have "launched an aggressive campaign against legislation to protect gay youth in California's and ultimately America's schools."
According to CRI, Johnsons own statements reveal the true agenda behind such legislation as SB 777. The radical homosexual agenda intends on sweeping the nation. California is merely the first step in the campaign to stifle free speech and stamp out opposition to alternative lifestyles.

> “we will BURY you”
How poignant.
If I remember correctly, Nikita Krushchov bellowed this very same threat from the UN Podium as he pounded his steel-heeled shoe on it.
Where are he and his great Communist empire now?
1. Parents, GET YOUR KIDS OUT OF PUBLIC SCHOOL.
2. Abolish the Department of Education.
True colors are revealed!
Of course, if this were ANY other group sending the same email to them, it would be considered a hate crime.
Catholic ping!
Holy mackeral.
“If I remember correctly, Nikita Krushchov bellowed this very same threat from the UN Podium as he pounded his steel-heeled shoe on it.”
He’s doing basically the same thing, except the shoe is much more vibrant and really goes with his outfit.
I will believe that when I see it.........
“I am a firm supporter of freedom of speech...”
That’s why he is trying to ban it in public schools? I got an idea! Let’s do the same thing with text books, except they can’t say anything bad about Republicans! After all, isn’t that just an alternative choice? If we made them do that, then considering the way text books are currently written, the section on the Reagan presidency would have to be about three sentences long.
“...that would prohibit the use of any materials in the public schools that reflect negatively on the homosexual lifestyle.”
Can anyone point out to me any books used in school that “reflect negatively” on homosexuality? The only ones that would even MENTION homosexuality would be history or sex ed books, and neither one would say anything bad about them! Passing this bill would be like banning all text books that say Christopher Columbus grew up in Brooklyn and discovered salt water taffy in 1965!

Looking at the nonchalance re: the spread of HIV into Full blown AIDS... we will bury them. After our taxpayer dollars pay for med cocktails for years, that is. I hope everyone saw the study recently re: unprotected sex and the number that also slept with ‘straight men’.
Privacy, just like abortion... until they want PUBLIC money to pay for their choices. No responsibility.
We’ve got to change the school system and society.
I would like one of them to tell me what their relationship offers to the world... what do they leave behind? Oh, I forgot... some adopt. That makes me feel even better. s/
Welcome to Sodom as well as the sacrifice of children to Moloch.
The official Day of Silence T-shirt supplier -- [ Nightsweats and T Cells advertised shirts like the following on the website to which student participants were directed to buy Day of Silence apparel:
"The Christian Right is Wrong." (Description elsewhere on the products page: "Very simple stuff. AIDS is a virus...not a punishment sent down by God to bring joy into Jesse Helm's [sic] life."
"George Bush . . . Axis of Evil" (with picture of George Bush and Nazi swastika. Description elsewhere on the products page: "We know a fascist when we see one.")
"Disobey" (with George Bush's picture)
What a revealing example of "tolerance" for a group that saw fit to proclaim April 18 the day on which intolerance to gays would take center stage. What a transparently in-your-face double standard by GLSEN: "Don't harass or demean us, but we feel entitled to take gratuitous cheap shots at you with impunity."
