"Almost, every word in the Hail Mary Prayer is scriptural"

That is only because each of those words is found somewhere in the Bible, but nowhere together.

"Even if you do not like Mary, you should respect her for being the Mother of the Lord Jesus"

This is not about personalities. There is insufficient information about Mary in the Bible to even form an opinion about her as a person. This is about blatant pagan goddess worship under the guise of respecting the Earthly mother of Jesus, James, Juda, and Simon (her daughters are unnamed).

So if I understand you correctly by trying to not get off topic on each thread they are doing something wrong? Gee I would think you would appreciate segregating some of the noise..

**This is about blatant pagan goddess worship under the guise of respecting the Earthly mother of Jesus,**

Catholics to not worship the Mother of God, Mary most holy.

Instead, we ask her to pray for us, intercede for us. (Much like she did at the Wedding of Cana for the bride and groom who had run out of wine.)

What did she say after speaking with Jesus, the Lord?

(paraphrasing here) Do as he says.

She redirects everything we ask of her to her Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

I’m sorry can you divine from us the places in scripture where Mary is given the status od co-redemptirx? I would love to see it.

One of the reasons I was moved to leave the church at an early age is because I was never at all comfortable praying to Mary. You can phrase it however you wish ‘asking here to intervene’ the hail mary is a prayer to a Dead woman.

I'm confident that she hears not a word we say. "Absent from the body - present with the Lord."

The only prayers we are authorized to make are to the Father, in the name of the Son. All others are disobedient.

Consider our communications at an end.

Where are you getting your information? Maybe from an apologist who doesn't like Mary OR the Catholic Church?

There is information about the intercession of Mary and the saints in the following link:

The Early Church Fathers on Intercession of the Saints - Catholic/Orthodox Caucus

PS. There is also scriptural support for this in the thread. May God bless you and open your mind on this subject.

“They have to limit the Infinite within a narrow box that conforms to their view of scripture so completely that unless something is a “provable truth” it is dismissed. It leaves no room for miracle or revelation.”

Do you really think thats whats being said? When you put as part of your doctrine something that contradicts scripture “that Christ, alone, is the *only* way yo salvation” is it narrow minded to ask for something to back that up?

“God help you people. You have deformed The Almighty into a shrinkwrapped diety of your own creation.”

Please, I don’t believe there is any man on earth, that would include Rome, who is infallible and can alone set doctrine. That is creating your own diety and its what the RCC does.

Pet,

I know ears_to_hear and every word they have uttered on this or any thread I have ever seen are true.

Dont get me wrong a woman who deserves recognition as being selected by God to do one the the most amazing things in history and I am sure beloved especially by Jesus but that does not warrant prayer that is reserved for God alone.

If my belief so offends you that you wish to cease communications I am sorry I have enjoyed talking with you on other threads and respect you too much to pull punches.

The second saddest thing about this letter is that this man was involved with RCIA in his parish. Unfortunately an even cursory comprehension of Catholic dogma, doctrine and discipline, not to mention decent understanding of Scripture seems to be a prerequisite for participating in the instruction side of RCIA. The class my wife went through was abysmal.

The saddest thing is that this man has decided to trust in his judgment rather than in the Church Christ created for him.

You may not think that all these things are gifts from God, though a Catholic would think so. Fair enough, can I understand that. But I am sure you would agree that it is unwise to turn one's back on the things that God offers us.

On the contrary, I think they are (at least some) are gifts from God. But I also would suggest that the only reason we desire to take the sacraments is simply because God gives us this desire. The reason we pray or want communion or want to be baptized or want to do anything is because God has placed this desire within us.

No responses directly to my post 333 pertaining to that point, but I really haven’t been following the thread much lately.
