Build a Snowman
PBS ^ | PBS Kids

Posted on 07/12/2007 4:14:02 PM PDT by Greg F

Link through to build a snowman on PBS' childrens website. Step 2 is to pick your favorite winter holiday.

Pick your favorite winter holiday:

Now is it:

Chinese New Year? Groundhog Day? Valentines Day? Kwaanza?

If not . . . that's not a choice the PBS kids site offers the children.

My nephew just sent me a news announcement about the new Wii Dance, Dance Revolution. It said that it will be released “Holiday 07”

What holiday?

BTW, time to write to PBS.

Had to find the form but I did ask why my daughter can’t pick Christmas as her favorite winter holiday.

I won’t hold my breath for an answer.

When will our government stop funding this leftist propaganda network? If we can’t stop funding then can an equal amount of tax dollars be given to Fox News?

Heck with FoxNews, how about Free Republic? We’re a better source anyway.

If you have a question, we’ll try to write back to you within a week.
We do read each of your letters and listen to your tips for making PBS agreat place for kids.

Thanks for visiting!”

Still won’t hold my breath!

I’m surprised they didn’t offer Festivus as a choice. It’s just as legitimate as the K word.

It’s Festivus every day here at Free Republic. Let the “Airing of Grievences” begin.

Glad you wrote. I was playing with my 2 year old on the computer and immediately left the PBS site when I saw no Christmas on the list of holidays.

Kwaanza but no Christmas? GROUNDHOG DAY?! Leftists recognize all religions as valid except Christianity. Liberals love NPR and PBS. They are their public propaganda stations.

I e-mailed them as well.

We all should. Maybe Rush or O’Reilly or Fox will get a hold of this.

Looks like they have the sense to list Christmas on some of those games.

Looks like they have the sense to list Christmas on some of those games.

The difference in the games I posted and the snowman game is that the Author games are designed to educate and the snowman game is designed just to be silly. If you play the snowman game you will see just how silly it is.

It is possible that since it is a silly game, the designers deliberately kept all religious holidays out of it so as not to offend someone.

I am not defending PBS nor do I believe that they are any friend to Christians, but I do think that Christmas being omitted from this snowman game has nothing to do with any type of agenda.

I just pictured my two year old actually knowing one of the holidays and being happy when she chose Christmas. For an American company to list winter holidays and leave out Christmas is ridiculous and intentional on someone’s part, imo.

We’re a better source anyway.

While after-action reports are pretty good, FR is not the "source" of much of what is posted here. Primary news reporting is still required.
