I’ll help there - no archaeological evidence exists. If it never was, there’d be no evidence. Case closed.
Jesus Christ appearing in the New World after his resurrection.
Just to pick out an obvious error in his thinking;
Jesus was a Hebrew of direct linage to King David. He may have been of slightly paler complexion than the Maya but in no way could they have considered him white.
Jesus was not a Caucasian.
“what is the compexion of a resurrected being”
I guess we should ask Joseph Smith. But, then again, Joseph seemed to be a little snooty with regard to Jesus Christ. As I recall, he boasted that he had done more than JC ever did.
I was pointing out an obvious error in his thinking.
As for John 10:16 it is a long stretch to suggest that Jesus was referring to sheep on another continent and not simply all Gentiles.
C’mon, Dude. Why slap at their arms when they are obviously reaching.
Referring to the Jews still beyond the Euphrates and Babylon.
Well from scripture I guess it is hard to tell. After his resurrection sometimes Jesus was recognized other times he was not.
But from my reading of the Bible I never noted where he was mistaken for a European or that it was commented that he was pale.
That is your interpretation, I have mine.
You're certain of that, are you?
People do get around. There is a minor black tribe in South Africa whose roots are from the Hebrew Priestly tribe in Yemen. Ironically, their mythology includes a tale of when they were led out of their homeland, and names a city much like one that still exists in Yemen.
Even stranger, a Native American tribe in New Mexico is closely related by DNA to ancient Japanese. But no other tribe in the region has even a trace of that DNA in them. And their unique artistic style also bears similarity to the art of ancient Japan.
An extinct Native American tribe in Florida’s closest relatives were found deep in South America, but none of the tribes between the two show any trace of that relationship.

Interesting for later reading
But if the man wants to have his scholarship respected he needs to do better.
Perhaps his scholarship is respectable but his communication of it is poor. Either way he will have to get used to critics far more ruthless than I.
We’re in the same court, Pontiac. My comment wasn’t pointed at you.
BB: OK Now that that is settled, we can get back to politics.
Oh, and check out what the D&C says about the Catholic church. Great abominable whore of Babylon and all that.
BB: I know the Mormons don’t equate Catholics to “the Great abominable Whore of Babylon.” So I read what you referred to. My impression was it was amplifying on one of Jesus’ parables and it refers to the modern amoral, decadent, downgrading-the-spiritual culture. And my personal opinion is that some planks of the democrat party would be a part of that, that is, support for the gay agenda, abortion, splitting society into dependent constituencies, demeaning the family, etc. Just my serious opinion.
Parenthetically, one of my favorite writers, Orson Scott Card, is a Latter Day Saint who deals honestly with Christian beliefs in his novels. Of course, I'm praying for his conversion, even while I'm appreciating his work. It's embarrassing that God had to raise up a Mormon to honor His Son in a hostile genre!
As I recall, he boasted that he had done more than JC ever did.
Having never met a Mayan I guess not. But I think it a very good assumption which I am willing to make.
Having seen photos of both Mayan decedents and Jews native to Israel, I dont think the slight differences in their complexions would support the theory that Jesus would be the White God of the Mayans.
Mormons can believe what ever they like I am not a religious bigot.
But to convert me they will have to come up with better arguments to support their doctrines.
That is your interpretation, I have mine.
Even the diciples thought this...Jhn 7:35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Whither will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
He was reffering to his death and returning to the Father.
“I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him; but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet.”
-Jospeh Smith, May 26, 1844
