For over twenty years, "Patriot Pastor" Garrett Lear has strode the halls of New Hampshire's legislature...serving as a voice for his faith and his Revolutionary War ancestors. Today he talks with us about Real ID, the liberty deficit among Christians and his colorful outfit. Pastor Lear's church is in Wakefield, New Hampshire.
What do *you* think? Is Real ID the Mark of the Beast? A precursor to it? A bad thing? A good thing?
Bookmarking for a later read. :)
The Mark of the Beast is not a chip or anything else that has no relation to your salvation. My being able to buy or sell has nothing to do with my salvation. Keeping the Mark of Hashem (Deut. 6:6-8) which are his 10 commandments in the hand or head (symbolism) definitely affects your salvation. Sunday, the false Sabbath, is not a holy day and is no where found in the Bible to be Holy day of rest. The apostles never observed Sunday. Read Acts 13 18. It was instituted by Pagan Emperor Constantine in 325 AD at the Council of Nicea. Paul says the 7th day Sabbath is still the proper rest that we should strive to maintain in Hebrews 4:9-11. Dont let false prophets deceive you with Col 2:16. Those are sabbaths relating to Feast days which are on dates of the month. Not the weekly sabbath. See Lev 23.
Blessings in your search for TRUTH
topcat54: Repeat after me: “There is no pretribulation rapture doctrine taught in the Bible.”
topcat54Keep saying it over and over as you read the Bible and you will feel better.
topcat54, I'm sorry you don't have complete faith in His Word. The Bible is quite clear on His followers being “caught up” ... . Like anyone else, you are welcome to believe too. You’re not excluded. Having said that, it is most unwise for YOU to try and bully others to DENOUNCE their faith is HIS TEACHINGS.
As for ME, I will not denounce His teachings in favor of YOUR teachings. I prefer Biblical teachings over those of fallible men, you, topcat54.
Actually, the writer of Hebrews says no such thing. If you read the entire context of Hebrews 4 you will see that the writer cannot be talking about the old covenant weekly Sabbath when he refers to Christs "rest" and what we experience in the new covenant, since he says that the members of the old covenant could not enter into that rest (cf. v. 8). While they had the weekly Sabbath, they could not experience true resting in Christ since He had not yet been raised from the dead. What he clearly has in mind is the eternal rest Christ has provided to all His people by His death and resurrection from the dead.
Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it.
Let me try again, there is no pretribulation rapture doctrine taught in the Bible. You cannot supply any passages that teach such a doctrine unless you a) import your presuppositions into the text and b) ignore other texts that teach against the notion.
There is only one resurrection of the dead, the just and the unjust.
"I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust." (Acts 24:15)
"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming. Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, (1 Cor. 15:22-24)
Ive actually heard some otherwise sound Bible teachers try to insert 1007 years between the end of verse 23 and the beginning of verse 24. Such an attempt is preposterous, and goes to show how the Scripture needs to be twisted in order to advance the pretribulation rapture doctrine.
As for ME, I will not denounce His teachings in favor of YOUR teachings that do not align with the Bible.
Revelation says that the mark of the Beast will be applied to the back of the hand or the forehead. I believe this to be a metaphor for work. Work is either intellectual (the forehead) or manual (the hand). I believe Revelation is saying that a time of wickedness will arrive, when only those who follow Satan will be able advance in their daily work or occupations due to the prevailing immorality.
Christians who still follow God's law in their everyday dealings and work, will be marginalized and will be left behind in the headlong rush for money, wealth, personal aggrandizement and pleasure. IOW, when Revelation says "they will not be able to buy and sell", it means that their values will have no place in the prevailing godless conditions.
Whether we have arrived at that age is open to debate.
OK, back to bar codes and social security numbers............
I believe when the anti-christ finally comes, that the mark will be a computer chip of some sort inserted in one’s arm or forehead. It’s real. I believe that we, as true believers, will know that when it happens. It’s our unbelieving friends and family I’m concerned for.
I know just what you mean. I’ve tried for years to get a caring coalition started in our church. It went pretty well for a while and then people stopped being interested. Having been in the hospital a number of times myself, I know how important it is to have cards, visitors, friends who care. Hubby and I try to do that to the best of our ability. People are busy and just lazy when it comes to putting themselves out for others. I’m glad the women in our church are waking up to that, even if the men aren’t.
It’s really discouraging and painful when church people judge you for your past, and believe me, God is not happy with them. I pray you can find a good church as well.
Good thought.
Yes, He is still in control! I admit to being a little fearful of the future, not so much for myself but for my loved ones who don’t know the Lord. One family is pretty secure in Him but the other two don’t have a clue yet.
They’re already injecting them into dogs and other animals, and want to inject them into people with chronic illnesses. Thanks, but no thanks. I’ll die of mine first.
I agree with you.
Revelation has allot of symbolism. It may not be a physical mark. As time marches on we can all speculate more but His followers won’t be here. He will remove His own just as He did with Noah and Lott before all “hell breaks loose”.
I agree nmh. Too many churches preach the gospel according to the New York Times.
Thanks - it’s a spiritual cancer out there.
I refuse to have someone tell me other than what the Bible states.
You are so right. Everything on TV nowadays is violent, way too graphic, deadens sinful practices, encourages homosexual life style, shows disrespect to men or to parents in general, shows too much skin, gives me too much information about male dysfunctions, etc., etc., etc. I tend to watch old programs like Murder She Wrote, or Mystery Woman, etc. Some of the stuff is way too violent for little old grandma.
I rest my case that the pretribulation rapture doctrine is fraudulent.
