When the President of our Church - whom we consider to be a Prophet of God - died a few months ago, I learned the hard way just how vicious the anti Mormon posters could be. And the Scripture “Mourn with those who mourn” came to mind as the anti Mormons poked fun at our loss and pain. I started pushing the abuse button and had to push it several times. I will never ever forget how it felt to be pilloried during a time of grief. On the bright side, the next morning, a member of the Catholic Church said, “Oh, Saundra, I am so sorry to learn about your Church leader passing away.” She made tears come to my eyes and I really appreciated her compassion and concern. Meanwhile back at FR the Mormons haters were having a field day.

That wasn’t me, but I can sympathize.
It was the same for us with JPII and again when B16 came to our shores recently. The vile was suffocating.

I don’t get the idea of any FReeper telling another how to worship. I may think I’m right but I’ll let Our Lord sort out who is wrong.

A very nice Mormon FReeper explained to me about some of your religion. She was very sweet and did not look down on me, unlike some of the other “Christians” here who think that I am less than them because I am Catholic.

Saundra, don't you ever tire of that accusation? How many times have folks told you that the opposition to mormonism has two main purposes? ... 1) To defend the Grace of God in Christ which mormonism denigrates with the ‘after all that you can do’, and 2) to try and open the eyes of those caught up in the religion founded by Joe Smith, peepstone divination fraud. That's why we post the absurdities easily found in the documents of mormonism like the Joe Smith's King James 'Translation' of the King James Bible to which he added prophecies of himself at the end of Genesis, and the fraudulent 'translation' of an Egyptian funerary papyrus as if it were 'the Book of Abraham'!

Ask yourself, Saundra, why would some continue to oppose mormonism after so many accusations just like your specious one? ... Because Jesus commissioned Christians to do it regardless of the aspersions folks like you try to use to silence the opposition! I sincerely hope you get to read this post before the thread poster pleads the moderator into deleting this post. We really do care about your immortal soul, Saundra. Think of it along the same lines which cause Mormons to be baptised for dead people ... they do it--so I'm told--because they care about the dead. Without The Grace of God in Christ, Saundra, you are counted amongst the dead, spiritually!

Oh you mean like this hateful post on the thread about your Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley?

I have been accused of being a hater of Mormonism. In fact I am probably one of the most vocal in opposition. I am not a hater. But I stand accused.
