Obviously, the Book of Kells is Greek to some.

From the time Jerome translated the Vulgate to the time Gutenberg printed his first Bible (again, a Vulgate)--roughly 1050 years--you are claiming that it was Greek Orthodox monks who did all the recopying and preservation of the New Testament?

Check your history. The New Testament was written in Greek not Latin.

Check my post. I never said the New Testament was written in Latin. I specifically said it was translated into Latin by Jerome.

So you are talking in circles and non-sequiturs, no doubt to avoid admitting you were wrong.

This thread is posted in the Religion Forum.

If you do not wish to see RF posts, do NOT use the "everything" option on the browse. Instead, browse by "News/Activism." When you log back in, the browse will reset to "everything" - so be sure to set it back to "News/Activism."

Also this is an "open" thread on the Religion Forum:

Prayer threads are closed to debate of any kind.

Devotional threads are closed to debate of any kind.

Caucus threads are closed to any poster who is not a member of the caucus. If it says “Catholic Caucus” and you are not Catholic, do not post to the thread. However, if the poster of the caucus welcomes you, I will not boot you from the thread.

Ecumenic threads in this trial run are closed to all “anti” arguments. Posters who try to tear down other’s beliefs – or use subterfuge to accomplish the same goal – are the disrupters on ecumenic threads and will be booted from the thread and/or suspended.

Open threads are a town square – posters may argue for or against beliefs of any kind. They may tear down other's beliefs. They may ridicule, similar to the Smoky Backroom with the exception that a poster must never “make it personal.” Reading minds and attributing motives are forms of “making it personal.” Thin-skinned posters will be booted from “open” threads because in the town square, they are the disrupters.

No. I’m reading your posts but not following their circular course.

You didn’t get that from my posts. You made an accusation of motive.

You wrote:

“Her first martyr was the man who translated the Tyndale Bible, John Rogers, a London minister.”

Uh, the man who translated the Tyndale bible was Tyndale.

So much for your credibility as a source.

Check your history. The New Testament was written in Greek not Latin.

It's really something if you look at the time line. The printing press is created. Constantinople falls to the muslims. The Greeks flee with as many manuscripts as they can. The Greek manuscripts begin to be published and translated. People see the grievous error of the dominant Roman church and we have a Reformation.

Praise the Lord.

I didn't get much of anything from your posts, but it's not for lack of trying.

No disrepect to you, e.Shubee, but this is a very strange type of thread with a very provocative title.

Usually in the FR RF we post an article that we can all discuss and compare with Scripture "to see if it be so."

If you ever have a real thread based on a real sermon or essay to post feel free to ping me. Until then, I don't really understand why you would post something like this.

Pro-LDS and anti-Catholic threads abound in breaking news.
I’m detecting a pattern here...

I see plenty going both ways.

And every bit is a load of BS.
