Doubtful. Real men with real egos aren’t shameful attention whores. Looking at his picture and putting it together with his words, I don’t get the picture of a confident person whatsoever.

Paul Zachary Myers, a professor at the University of Minnesota Morris, has pledged to desecrate the Koran. He is responding to what happened recently at the U.S. military’s detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba when a guard was accused of desecrating the Muslim holy book by placing it in a toilet. Myers was angry at Muslims worldwide for their angry reaction to the alleged incident. His post can be accessed from his faculty page on the university’s website.
Here is an excerpt of his July 8 post, “It’s a Frackin’ Book!”:
“Can anyone out there score me an Arabic copy of the Koran?” Myers continued by saying, “if any of you would be willing to do what it takes to get me one, and mail it to me, I’ll show you sacrilege, gladly, and with much fanfare. I won’t be tempted to just put it in a toilet (no, not even if I have a choice between returning it to you and watching Osama bin Laden piss on the Ka’aba in Mecca), but I will instead actually urinate and defecate upon it, all photographed and presented here on the web. I shall do so joyfully and with laughter in my heart. If you can smuggle a Koran out from under the bomb-belt wearing psychos and babbling burkas hovering over your local mosque, just write to me and I’ll send you my home address.”

That’s fine by itself, but unfortunately this psycho is molding our kids into mini-me’s, from his isolated narrow view of the world ivory tower, thus we get students like the one in Florida. I meet many students just out of college at work - it takes a while to get their head turned around and focused in the real world.
