Good grief, Manfred the Wonder Dog! It is precisely because God is sovereign that He can do whatever it is He wants to do, and that without limit, because He (unlike us) is not only eternal, but the eternal author and foundation of natural goodness, law, and justice.
The entire point of Jesus Christ's incarnation, His teaching, His suffering, crucifixion, and death is that God actually cares about His creatures, in a way that is (strangely) not the way that creatures actually care about each other....
Go figure. :^)
Then we’ll just have to disagree on that.
Well put.
Thanks for the pings.
You simply took a phrase out of context. If you cannot discuss an idea, we’re done. Did you read Jude 4, which clearly shows that not every single person is predestined for salvation?
“For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Because He is sovereign, He can - and does - decide who to save and who to leave to the reward for their sin. I never made a comment about whether or not the Lord cares for His creation - it’s absurd to think otherwise.
Good grief, indeed.
St. Jude saw what he saw. What do you see in his statement? To whom do you apply this description, Manfred the Wonder Dawg?
Finally, are you to be the judge here? It seems to me that only God has foreknowledge of such matters and how He will judge them. Don't forget what our Lord says in the Gospel of Saint John (paraphrasing here): "For I have other sheep, of other folds. Them also must I bring to My Father."
Good grief. Where do you get the idea that I think I’m the judge? Christ is the judge and He has determined these things. The point is - and this is the last comment I will make to you unless you can reason - that NOT ALL (that is - every single universal human) will be saved. Christ will save whom He chooses and no man can earn His favor.
Buh bye.
My point exactly Manfred the Wonder Dawg.
Buh bye.
And if you send in your money they will send you a “genuine” ancient description of what Christ looks like, taken from an actual letter to Rome written at the time of Christ!
Now, if you have studied art you will know it is a 14th century fake but, hey, it brings in the money!
I head whats her name (the floozy)on TBN use this shtick years ago.
“And when your coin rings in the money box..” Oh, wait, that is a different one.
