Well you (the writer) answered your own question several times. It was Calimexihomoia in which the cathederal resides.
They do not follow or recognize the US Constitution why would you expect them to understand or follow the Bible or any other Church related doctrines?

I have found CMR to be very reliable...and I suggest that the bishop be contacted immediately about this. If that response is not what it should be...contact the Vatican....specifically the prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, Cardinal William Joseph Levada.
Note, often any warm body is accepted to work in such places without much attention paid to their background...maybe even more so on Mahoney’s watch. ;-/
