Anyone who dedicates his or her life to promoting the grave evil of abortion and embryonic stem cell research, repeatedly making false and evil public statements, extolling abortion rights, should be formally excommunicated and denied Catholic burial. Any priest who would join with that erring Catholic and continue to give her Communion should be defrocked.
It is not just the evil of fake Catholics promoting abortion that needs to be stopped. The bishops have a duty to stop the sacrilege.

My guess is that his house is divided. We will see nowe if he has the guts he needs to be worthy of his office, or if he is just another trimmer.

Thanks for the link! For some reason, I thought it was THIS Friday.
On the one hand, it looks a bit cowardly for him to wait so long.
On the other hand, it will keep the issue alive, which is a good thing. Presumably she gets a pass THIS Sunday . . . :-(
I understand that the bishops want to be circumspect and good shepherds and all that stuff, but if you get right down to it Pelosi's soul is at stake, and that's a serious matter for a shepherd . . . .

Not from our visiting priest this Sunday. He started and ended his homily with pro-life. Of course, he discoursed on the readings in between, but tied them all in to pro-life and us living that message in our world today.
Second dose for our parish. Two weeks ago, our deacon gave a strong, strong (and courageous for Oregon) homily on voting for life. God bless both these men abundantly.

Good for your priest.
And you're right -- it's tough to preach life in Oregon. But that's what they mean when they say the Church is not of the World.

Niederauer has probably never read either Canon Law or the Catechism before now.

Can somebody tell me why the Catholic Church doesn’t excommunicate anyone anymore?

Cardinals and bishops continue to rebuke House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for attempting a theological defense of her support for abortion. Good for them.
