2 Corinthians 4:16-17
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

Heavenly Father, what a great and awesome God we serve! May our lives profess and speak of your great love. We serve a God who has no limits, who is all powerful and all knowing. Though our view is so very limited and our faith is weak at times, you have no restrictions upon you and though we do not deserve it, you greatly bless us. Thank you precious Lord.

Lord, we lift up our President and pray that he would not become weary in doing good. Let him know that at the proper time he will reap a harvest if he does not give up. Thank you that he is your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which you prepared in advanced for him to do. And let him work with all his heart, working for you and not for people.

Father, we also lift up Senator McCain and Governor Palin, let them not loose heart though they are attacked on all sides. When they are assaulted by wickedness, please help them and deliver them. Guard their course and protect their way. Lord, bless our troops. Give to them the wisdom that they need to carry out their tasks. Lord you have blessed us with a great and wonderful nation which we are proud to be a citizen of. Bless all who come here to pray and pray for our nation. We ask these things in Jesus name, amen.

Dear Lord, thank You for Faith.

Through Faith we know that we can overcome the evil in this world, just as our warriors are doing victoriously in Iraq. Through Faith we will succeed in Afghanistan, too.

Our President, through Faith in You, has overcome 8 years of belittling lies and accusations. Those who have carried on this inquisition against him should watch their backs. If they are not brought to justice in this world, they will soon come before You.

Those who profess to be Christians, and bear false witness, will be judged, just as non-believers will.

Dear Lord, protect and support all of our conservative candidates. We need Your true freedom from oppression, just as Your children of Israel did from Romans and other tyrants.

Bless all in need of Your continuing support. Protect those in harm’s way. Help us to share Your love with all we contact.

Amen.

AMEN AND GRACE TO ALL CHRISTIAN PATRIOTS!

“He hath commanded his covenant for ever.”
- Psalms 111:9

The Lord’s people delight in the covenant itself. It is an unfailing
source of consolation to them so often as the Holy Spirit leads them into
its banqueting house and waves its banner of love. They delight to
contemplate the antiquity of that covenant, remembering that before the
day-star knew its place, or planets ran their round, the interests of the
saints were made secure in Christ Jesus. It is peculiarly pleasing to them
to remember the sureness of the covenant, while meditating upon “the sure
mercies of David.” They delight to celebrate it as “signed, and sealed,
and ratified, in all things ordered well.” It often makes their hearts
dilate with joy to think of its immutability, as a covenant which neither
time nor eternity, life nor death, shall ever be able to violate-a
covenant as old as eternity and as everlasting as the Rock of ages. They
rejoice also to feast upon the fulness of this covenant, for they see in
it all things provided for them. God is their portion, Christ their
companion, the Spirit their Comforter, earth their lodge, and heaven their
home. They see in it an inheritance reserved and entailed to every soul
possessing an interest in its ancient and eternal deed of gift. Their eyes
sparkled when they saw it as a treasure-trove in the Bible; but oh! how
their souls were gladdened when they saw in the last will and testament of
their divine kinsman, that it was bequeathed to them! More especially it
is the pleasure of God’s people to contemplate the graciousness of this
covenant.
They see that the law was made void because it was a covenant of works
and depended upon merit, but this they perceive to be enduring because
grace is the basis, grace the condition, grace the strain, grace the
bulwark, grace the foundation, grace the topstone.
The covenant is a treasury of wealth, a granary of food, a fountain of
life, a store-house of salvation, a charter of peace, and a haven of joy.

Also Bishops Ask Catholics To Pray Election Novena

08-117
August 19, 2008
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bishops Ask Catholics To Pray Election Novena

WASHINGTON—The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) invites U.S. Catholics to pray before the November election a novena for life, justice, and peace called Novena for Faithful Citizenship. It is a podcast and available for download.

Joan Rosenhauer, Associate Director for the USCCB’s Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development, said that the special novena is part of “the bishops’ campaign to help Catholics develop well-formed consciences for addressing political and social questions.” The bishops issued their statement on forming consciences for faithful citizenship in November 2007.

Helen Osman, USCCB Secretary of Communications, expressed hope that the novena could help “Catholics enter into prayerful reflection as they prepare to vote.” Seventy-one percent of all visitors to the USCCB’s web site download the free podcasts of the daily NAB readings. These same visitors are encouraged to use the novena podcast for prayer. Osman said that the USCCB wants to support Catholics as they weigh pre-election issues and that “providing a prayer resource on the Web can help us focus on our common values and identity as Catholics.” The novena emphasizes the dignity of life, justice, and peace.

The Novena for Faithful Citizenship runs for nine days and can be used consecutively, one day each week, for nine days prior to the election, or “in any way that works best for a community or individual,” said Rosenhauer.

The novena will be available for download until the election and it can be downloaded online at http://www.faithfulcitizenship.org/resources/podcasts.
