Saddleback Church's Warren calls on believers to make history

Saddleback Church's Warren calls on believers to make history Church expects to bring 3,000 new believers into its flock Saturday.

LAKE FOREST – In what Saddleback Church Pastor Rick Warren calls historical, the church hopes to bring 3,000 new members into its flock on Saturday.

"I'm not sleeping much. I'm too excited," the megachurch's pastor wrote in an e-mail to his congregation this week. "THIS SATURDAY, March 28, will be THE GREATEST DAY in Saddleback's history. OVER 2,000 people have already signed up to become members of our church family on a single day."

Citing the Bible, Warren challenges prospective believers to match the 3,000 who were baptized 2,000 years ago on Pentecost.

"If you'll join us this weekend, history could be repeated at Saddleback," he said. "I was asked, 'Rick, If you could wish for anything to celebrate your 30 years of service at Saddleback, what would you dream of?' I said, To experience a repeat of Pentecost - and see 3,000 people affirm their faith and join our church family on a single day.' "

Warren = friend of the Islamic Teleprompter and abortionist.

Warren just wants Oprah to promote his newest book while he fawns over abortionist. Fraud prosperity huckster con-man Christianity. No thank you.

Maybe Warren can call the pro-partial birth abortion and pro-post abortion teleprompoter pal of his. Go to h*ll Warren. You are no Christian.

Warren also loves the pro-abortion Kenyan-born Muslim.

I noticed it was “become members of the church” not come to Christ. It is sad to see what Warren has become. My mother’s best friend used to attend Saddleback back in the early days. He was a lot more humble and solid back then.

Now he is just another hack bringing people to “religion” rather than Christ.

I have no respect for these mega church TV preachers. They want you to send your money to the Lord....but they give you their address.

I'll pay my tithes locally, thank you. And it'll be in a church where I don't need a directory to know everybody's name.

Our church does not have membership rolls. The pastor wanted to produce a directory of regular attenders and even that met up with opposition as being to close to membership rolls.

Well, Christians are told to love one another as Christ has loved us. Got a problem with that? Argue with God.

yup. you nailed it. he effectively equates church membership with being a Christian. Certainly if you talk to him privately he would deny it. However, that’s not what he seems to publicly teach.

Yeah I got a problem when a “pastor” really a book author sucks up to a Kenyan-born muslim who is pro-partial birth abortion and pro-post birth baby murder.

I also have a problem when Notre Dame sports business (formerly a Catholic University) sucks up to the same baby killer.

Did Jesus love the money changers when he smashed up the temple? He may not have hated them but he exposed them as dishonest frauds like Rick Warren.

Hmm interesting... how do you make financial decisions etc?

We're also told to confront false teaching and put out the false believers. Trouble is, RW puts out the true believers who want to try and keep the church Biblical. Very loving indeed!

Obama isn’t a Christian. And, yes based upon his verbal statements and the fruit of his actions, I believe I can say that. He believes all paths lead to the same place, which is not Christian.

As for Warren, the problem is not that he loves Obama. We are to love our enemies. The problem is that he loves Obama and doesn’t really seem to have any problem with Obama’s policies. Pro-abortion candidate? Warren doesn’t want to get into that messy stuff. Lets just all hug one another and jump into the same doctrineless one world camp together. Warren is trouble Mary, and we do have a problem with him.

Could you explain this? Christ was not particularly 'sweet' to those that followed Him around attempting to set a trap for Him. Do you consider that to be 'love'?

WE have a board of elders. We just do not have membership requirements.
