I discerned (that is one thing Lutherans do, right—discern?) that if you hold the elca up to today’s culture, you cannot see the one behind the other. Their outlines essentially coincide.
I also discerned that I could make a bigger difference, and live a happier life outside the elca. Since then, one of my avocations has been to stand on the outside and quietly call for others to come out.

Any decent soul who recognizes that homosexual behavior (not tendency, but behavior) is anathema to christian living. Either the word of God is true, or it is not.
The desires of human sinners make no difference to the truth - whether gay or straight.

Exactly. This is another example of the Marxists making their march through our institutions. The aim is to take over institutions and turn them into organizations that advance the cause of Marxism. What the Marxists cannot take over, they will destroy. The Marxists have taken over so many institutions. I think soon we will see "hate speech" laws that will close down churches that do not sponsor gay weddings, that do not speak glowingly about Islam, that do not actively promote communism, etc.
It reminds me of how the Nazis took over many Protestant churches in Germany, turning them into political organizations for that evil regime. But even that was not enough for them - they silenced every dissenting voice. But we are more enlightened nowadays. The new totalitarians will ban books and call it education. They will censor dissent and call it promoting diversity. They will promote hate and call it tolerance. They will initiate violence and call it peace. They will throw innocent people in prison in the name of human rights.
