ABSOLUTELY. HE WANTS A VERY INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH EACH OF US 1:1 DIRECTLY.
Yeah, we all get different things from books and all need to spit out the bones.
LUB
THANKS THANKS.

As God directs.
If you do, it won’t be time wasted, for sure, imho.

Very glad you replied. Very very glad to find one who has ears to hear. It was a good word, wasn’t it? Life unto life and all that.
And I agree,

Praying.
Then I guess my comments were for The God Chasers.
OBVIOUSLY, youve NEVER BEEN IN that kind of service else your assumptions and perspectives would be wholesale different.
Actually I have been in many types of services including ones like these. I mean this as kindly as I can in this type of forum; as I have grown older in Christ I have come to realize that these types of Christians normally are very spiritually immature. There is way too much emphasis on "feelings" and who can be "slay in the Spirit" more than anything else. Christianity is not about trying to "feel" good but resting on God's promises. It's not about dancing but about resting at His feet.
There are many people who claim just that; Joseph Smith, Mary Baker-Eddie, Jim Jones... A Christian does NOT need to see God work outside His "box". Like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; if God wants to work His miracle fine, if He doesn't that's OK too. We still praise God.
There is NO way that Scripture, as alive as it is, could possibly be MORE than ABOUT CHRIST, Father, Spirit.
The purpose of scripture is so that we may believe in Him who He sent. Sure there could have been more written but it was deemed unnecessary for its purpose. But why do you need more that what God has already provided?
Certainly He speaks to us through circumstances.
If you mean He guides us through our circumstances; yes, I would agree. But I would say that He speaks to us through His holy word.
But it CANNOT fill God Almighty's role of active IN THE PRESENT DIALOGUE with each individual.
The only active dialogue we have with God is through His word and the Holy Spirit is given to us to lead us to all true. They WORDS have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee.
That's an UNBiblical assertion. HOLY SPIRIT IS ON THE EARTH AND INDWELLS ALL AUTHENTIC BELIEVERS.
Well, that is true; I forgot about the Holy Spirit. I should have said the only tangible thing...
As JESUS SAID: MY SHEEP !!!!HEAR!!!! MY !!!!VOICE!!!! Are you calling Jesus a liar?
Of course we "hear" His voice. Faith comes from "hearing" the Word of God. Now, does EVERYONE hear His voice? Who are His sheep?
THAT'S 100% HOGWASH. ...Had you been, you would have KNOWN that PRIDE IN THE OVERT ABJECT OVERWHELMING !!!!PRESENCE!!!! OF GOD GETS OBLITERATED.
Perhaps. I would not say that God gets obliterated with pride. Rather I would say God gets distorted. People develop a warp sense of God. Pagans develop idols as to what God might be to themselves. Christians develop conceptions of what God should be. Examples go on and on including the Pharisees and the Saducees.
Your paradigm is what's filled with errors and misconceptions. I suggest you trash it and ask God to help you build a better one
I'll stand by my comments. I would just suggest a meditation refresher on Psalms 119.
I CAME TO CHRIST THROUGH GODSPELL!!
1971, I saw the person of Jesus Christ suddenly come alive, and I surrendered.
Thanks for the ping BTW.

QUOTING JOEL R.:
‘The front page of Tuesday mornings New York Times had a stunning headline: Iraq Suffers as the Euphrates River Dwindles.
‘The drying up of this historic river in the land of ancient Babylon is so stunning, that even the Times had to note that Bible prophecy says this will happen in the last days of history, in the lead up to the apocalyptic battle of Armageddon described in the Book of Revelation.
‘Excerpts from the Times story: Throughout the marshes, the reed gatherers, standing on land they once floated over, cry out to visitors in a passing boat. Maaku mai! they shout, holding up their rusty sickles. There is no water! The Euphrates is drying up. ...
‘The shrinking of the Euphrates, a river so crucial to the birth of civilization that the Book of Revelation prophesied its drying up as a sign of the end times, has decimated farms along its banks, has left fishermen impoverished and has depleted riverside towns as farmers flee to the cities looking for work.
...
‘Please note that [Joel] did not add in the link above to the Bible Gateway website for Revelation 16:12. The Times online edition includes that link themselves. Apparently the newspaper of record now believes that the future of Iraq in light of Bible prophecy is part of all the news thats fit to print.’

Prayers nice.
Thanks Big
6 years ago our nice popular Pastor left for some unknown reason. 5 years ago we unanimously called our new Pastor. We were all excited about the church growth possibilities our new Pastors life experiences would bring.
As soon as I saw him for the first time I heard an audible voice in my head saying help him. This new Pastor started by teaching us that we must be beggars for grace. He went back to basics of the standards established by our church and denomination. Scripture, Confession, and Constitution. It turns out that all three have been abandoned years ago by our church and denomination.
Experiencing Christ Jesus our Lord in a personal relationship way became a focus of the teaching. This made everyone uncomfortable. Our new Pastor was not a nice man.
I became one of his Elders and have tried to help him. What a Joy it has been. He taught me not to believe in my illusion of control. He has taught me not to live in the past or worry about the future but rather to live in the now. He is my spiritual mentor and I finally realize that the log in my eye is my judgmental attitude. The attitude I have had where I think I am better than someone else.
A schism was established and some of us have left the Egypt that was our old church experience with our Pastor. We meet every Sunday for Worship and Bible study in the wilderness. The beggars for grace have left and the nice people remain behind. They hate our Pastor.
Much has happened and is still happening. What a wonderful adventure in faith God has given me. Praise God!
EXCELLENT NARRARIVE.
PRAISE GOD.
Sounds like a good pastor.
Thanks.
Harley, I was greatly disappointed in the quality of your response. Somehow, I expected more vulnerable, open-minced candor, from you.
I can’t manage a full-blown response here at the reunion.
However, I asure you that you have NOT been in the kind of service Tenney described.
You may have been in various levels & flavors of hokey Pentecostal/Charismatic services.
However, you have NOT been in a service where the POWERFUL OVERWHELMING PRESENCE OF GOD.
I’ve never known ANYONE who has been in such a service to come away unchanged of disbelieving in such a move of God. No one.
That was true in Scripture—in terms of intense ENCOUNTERS WITH GOD. It is true now.
Thanks for the link! This is something else...wow.
CERTAINLY resting in, being in Him is a crucial priority. . . . probably most crucial.
Nevertheless, WANTING ALL OF GOD . . . . in any sense, all that God would desire to place withinh one; meet with one, . . . . is also a worthy priority, choice.
