Have you seen the new show show coming out “What did you see?”

Looks fascinating. Kind of like the one with the guy who prophesizes...the name of it escapes me right now.

Also, the last American Idol ended featuring “Shout to the Lord”.

While bad things are afoot, good ones are, too.

My son is 25 and never paid ANY attention to politics until November 2008 due to Obamanation. He tells me every time I talk to him that we are living in end times. I try to remain hopeful.

In theological circles a growing number of eschatologically versed ministers are saying it has to happen. They are concurring more each day that the prophesied demise of the world has to begin at sometime and they all agree we are now well out of the starting gate.

The biblical doctrine not as often discussed when prophecy is the subject is that of ‘delusions.’ It sounds more like a psychological term and thus it is overlooked more often than not. Since modern man sees himself as only a body and a brain unlike the tripartite divisions the bible speaks of, body, soul and spirit; we could safely say that this doctrine is bound to fly over a lot of heads un-noticed and unheeded.

In a discourse written to the Christians in the Macedonian capital city of Thessalonica the Apostle Paul wrote to quell the concerns of the Christians there about the coming of the antichrist. He told them that the antichrist would not come into the world until a great falling away (From the language used by Paul it is easy to see that the apostasy will include the church but is not limited to it. In fact it is a political change and a shift in the social order that is distinctly implied by the Apostle and it is the precursor to a universal event. That event is the rise of the world’s last dictator who sees himself as on an equal par with God.

It almost seems befitting that a world that dismisses God out of hand will be saddled with a mere man who thinks he’s as good or better than God and billions will buy it. Higher education will not prevent decisions that will bring man to the lowest levels of their entire history.

What is far more interesting is that the social climate preceding the rise of the antichrist is one of casting off the old school thinking and taking on the universal claim that a global consciousness is the way to dispel the old myths of a God ordered, morality based system of governance
apostasy) happened first.

What is far more interesting is that the social climate preceding the rise of the antichrist is one of casting off the old school thinking and taking on the universal claim that a global consciousness is the way to dispel the old mPaul declares that it is not the gradual disappearance of truth that brings on the day of the antichrist. Rather it is the love of the truth that dies. To wit; “Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.” (2 Thess 2:9-10)

Unfortunately what follows the death of the love of truth is delusion. What follows delusion is the death of decency, democracy and nationhood. Paul said “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:” (2Thess 2:11)

This theological principle is perhaps the most shocking revelation in the bible. We think of all deception as coming from the ‘arch deceiver’ or Satan but never from God. The key to this enigma is simple. If the love of the truth is abandoned then God will no longer offer the truth. He will pull back the restraints so to speak and allow the flood gates of error, deceit and flagrant falsehood to fly wide open and it will come in with a vengeance.

Far from being a figure of speech it is precisely how God exacts his vengeance on a disbelieving and disobedient world. Leaving them to wallow in their own darkness creates their own doom. It is a theological thread repeated and announced throughout the entirety of the bible but even more so it is God’s way of dealing with man throughout the ages. It is the biblical equivalent of “give a man enough rope and he will hang himself.”

Oddly enough when men give up the love of truth it is mere vanities that are left to take its place. Each of these vanities is addressed in the bible and each of them sounds like America to the letter.

If it’s a new socialistically motivated president that we choose to trust above all else then we might want to reflect on this verse. “Thus saith the Lord; cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the Lord. (Je 17:5)

But if its intellectualism, notions of being a military super power or our economic riches we are trusting in then this passage speaks to us. “Thus saith the Lord, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:” (Je 9:23)

INDEED.

I TOTALLY EXPECT DAMASCUS

to be eternally wiped off the face of the earth exactly as Scripture fortells.

REPLACEMENTARIANS et al try to pretend it happened in A.D. along with a lot of other similar nonsense.

NOT SO! Even their rubber histories cannot stretch THAT far.

Yet, God’s Word is emphatic and clear about Damascus. It will be literally so and in our lifetime.

Probably within a rather short period of time.

Hmmmmm....

Interesting discussion.

I'm not a religious man although I do sense a greater purpose behind the most obvious in most everything I study, including history.

In my short six decades I have looked back into the past and discovered the same fears ans worry espoused dozens if not hundreds of times, and yet we somehow muddle through as a human race.

Although peoples of various faiths and heritage have come and gone, sometimes violently, and often with a whisper, I see no reason to think that this time is any more dangerous then the 50s and sixties or various other moments of potential upheavals or change.

I share the feelings of most in that I am prepared for anything that may come. It is something that I do as part of my duties as a husband and father to protect my family and property. In other words I am prepared to use force if necessary to protect what is mine, including my Constitution against all enemies, foreign or domestic. I took that oath long ago as so many of us have.

Knowing this, and that there are so many of us in these United States should give one at least some solace whenever we are threatened from without or from within.

I'm not saying there could not be some fire and rain, but I do think that logically there will be a shining city on the hill when it has passed by and the quiet returns. History is replete with these repetitions.

Every generation thinks that it is living in the Last Days and that destruction is just around the corner. I would be more alarmed if prophesies of doom ceased. Every prophesy of the world’s end since Noah has been wrong; however, that doesn’t seem to matter to many people. They see signs of the End Times in everything. We should live everyday as if it were the last day. If we do that, we have nothing to worry about.

Jesus Christ is not the author of this work.

It is a post written by God (Scriptural quotes) and a very strange man (everything else).

Why is anyone permitted to post their own words and list at the top of the thread “Jesus” as the author?

What could a Freeper post attributed to Jesus that would NOT be allowed to stand with that false attribution? Is there a limit, and if so, what is it?

In short, why is a post written by Jeff Kingshott permitted to be posted with an author listed (and misdefined) as Jesus?

Ok, just need a little help here. I read this post and then I went to the “Joshua Chronicles” and found similar posts but could find no concrete information regarding the person that is posting other than he is “operating in the five fold ministry,” which of course is conformation or proof of nothing. I have no problem with anyone “uplifting the Saints” but proclaiming to be a Prophet is entirely another matter. Is Jedediah or Joshua speaking here as a Prophet of the Lord? Is this to be construed as “Thus saith the Lord?” (apart from the run-on sentences and poor punctuation of course). Certainly the claims here are VERY ambiguous but who is this man who claims to speak the words of the Lord? What qualifies him as a prophet and what record of fulfilled prophecy does he offer. The Bible warns us of MANY false prophets so with that warning everyone should be very careful what they blindly accept as truth, especially when it is presented as ambiguously (”you say you speak in riddles”) as this appears to be. The Lord had no problem proving His Prophets so I feel Biblically moved to ask why we should accept this man’s words as the Word of the Lord?

Blessings to you and yours Jeff.

The New Church believes that Isaiah 17 refers to those who place religion in nothing but knowing knowledges (Damascus) and they are to be "destroyed". This knowledge will be serviceable to the New Church and the knowledge of knowledges will be rare but are to be instructed by the Lord. Finally, those who do not suffer themselves to be instructed by the Lord will lack all things, and will seize upon falsities.

Your posts on this thread are spot on based on my prayerful meditations. I see it as we are in creation week with a 'wedding' coming up. I'm avoiding all negative thoughts and directing all my focus and attention inward and upward.

So tell me children what will you do ? Follow me or follow you ?!

Follow you where? Christ set the way. Oh, who do you think Isaiah was referring to when he said "The fortress also shall cease from Ephraim,....."?

"A great explosion is about to come , Destroying things not of my kingdom..."

This is the strong impression I get when contemplating both the times we live in and the man in the mirror.A part of me rejoices at the prospect and a part of me is scared witless. One thing is certain,no part of me will be on the fence then.

Jesus is Lord! God bless

http://cryfromthewall.com/chapter25TheAgeOfJohnLoveandThunder.html

...the last Revival/Reformation.

Those in this Revival/Reformation who endure to the end will have the anointing of David and the anointing of John. They will have the anointing of the prophet/king, the anointing of the prophet/apostle. They will have the anointing of the SEER who SEES the spiritual realm as David partly and passionately saw. They will have the anointing of John who saw even more than David as he stood with the glorified Jesus Christ both on the Island of Patmos and in the heavenly throne room.

The anointing that is on this last days, last age Church will certainly be the anointing of John. But this anointing of John is two fold. Most certainly John was the apostle of love. Of the three pillar apostles, John was the one who was closest to the heart of our Lord. He was the disciple whom Jesus loved. He was the disciple to whom Jesus entrusted His mother. Two images of love that come immediately to our mind are first, John laying his head on the bosom of our Lord, and second, John speaking these words, “Little children, love one another.”

But there is another aspect of John’s anointing that is summed up in the surname given to him by our Lord, in the Gospel of Mark. Jesus calls him and names him: “Son of Thunder.” Undoubtedly this was, as Philip Schaff says, “...an epithet of honor and foreshadowed his future mission, like the name Peter given to Simon. Thunder to the Hebrews was the voice of God. It conveys the idea of ardent temper, great strength and vehemence of character .... The same thunder which terrifies does also purify the air and fructify the earth with its accompanying showers of rain. Fiery temper under the control of reason and in the service of truth is as great a power of construction as the same temper, uncontrolled and misdirected, is a power of destruction.”

John was both the apostle of love and the thundering prophet. No other apostle or disciple carried the mantel of prophet so graciously and so dynamically as John. As a Seer his vision spanned from before the beginning of time to after the end of time. He saw back to before the creation when he tells us that, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” He also saw beyond the end of time to the beginning of eternity as he describes “a new heaven and a new earth... (Where) the Lord God, the Almighty, and the Lamb are its temple. And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine upon it, for the glory of God has illuminated it, and its lamp is the Lamb.”
...
