Ambiguous genitalia (also known as atypical genitalia) is a birth defect (or birth variation) of the sex organs that makes it unclear whether an affected newborn is a girl or boy. This condition occurs approximately once in every 4,500 births.

Maybe homosexuality can't be proven by genetics...but it can't be UNPROVEN either.

Have you got a link for this? It is a little more frequent than the data I found, but even so we are talking about 0.02% of births which is hardly the "many" you referenced earlier.

What you have just offered here is what is known as a logical fallacy. If people want to claim that homosexuality is a genetic trait then they have the burden proof. By saying it can't be "unproven" you are asking science to prove a negative and that is generally impossible.

Please remove the comment #168-—as it puts words in my mouth and twists my words to slander and harrass me.

Nonsense, it asks a question which is perfectly logical based on your previous statement.

Maybe this will help. The purpose of science is to develop general laws that help explain how the world around us works and why things happen the way they do. This involves experimentation and observation. As I understand it, science isn’t used to prove or disprove but to explain.

It's not nonsense....he deliberatly worded it that way on purpose to put me in a bad light....which is why I reacted with my personal comment towards him which was pulled.

I see now that the people in here are a clique that will stick together to attack people like me stupid enough to post my opinion. It's a trap thread. I woudl never compare God to homosexuality and a fair honest minded person would see that. No fairness in this group. I feel bad for the next person stupid enough to post an opinion you don't like....harrassment, slander and attacked.

No, you were asked a QUESTION. If the answer to the question is no, then all you have to do is say that the answer was no.

I see now that the people in here are a clique that will stick together to attack people like me stupid enough to post my opinion.

The problem is that you seem to be posting your opinion as if it was based in fact.

Go back and read what was said. It was a fair question. I have not slandered you, harassed you nor insulted you. I asked a question.

My post 165: Where is your proof that homosexuality is genetic.

Your post 166: I don’t have proof of God either....but logic and common sense proves otherwise...

My post 168: You’re comparing God to homosexuality?

The implication is that you are taking homosexuality on faith as you do God. That is a comparison. Hence the question.

Oh and, I'm not a "him". I am a grandmother.

To the Religion Moderator: If this is inappropriate I will understand if you remove it. Thanks.

So what if they are? I don't believe it, myself. But it's possible. What you are really asking is, "Is sin in our nature? Are we born into it?" Well, yes, so I don't see the problem. If they proved tomorrow that child molesters and arsonists were born that way, would we embrace them or treat them?

Homosexuality is a deviant behavior. Plain and simple. It is sin. Now, personally, I'm a little libertarian here. I don't really care if someone is gay or not, in general. People should be free to live as they choose. But what I am opposed to is gay activists forcing me to embrace and accept what I find as deviant. Be gay if you want to, but allow me to, if I so chose, to openly tell you the Bible says you are going to hell.

Keep your sex in the bedroom and only God will know about it. That's the other problem with this. What gays really seem to want is not privacy, but the right to have sex in the streets, in our schools and in our churches. They want to be able to shove their lifestyles into our faces any time they choose. Seriously. If they actually did keep it in the bedroom, it would be no big deal.

Last, I will say this, I mentioned at the beginning that yes, people may be born gay. But, In Jesus, we can be born again! So, it doesn't matter how we are born, it matters how we finish. Everyone can have a new life in Jesus Christ!

So what if they are?

Being genetic is the wedge they are using for special rights and protections, including "marriage", by claiming they can't help it. They were born this way. They try to use that argument to silence Christians too.

I meant to ping this out a couple of days ago and it slipped by me.

Homosexuality should once again be classified as a mental illness.

This is an "open" thread in the Religion Forum. Thick skin is required because the debate is like a town square.

If you are not comfortable with this type of debate, then ignore "open" RF threads altogether and instead post to the RF threads labeled "prayer" "devotional" "caucus" or "ecumenical."

If I were born with a predisposition to anger, that fact would not make it either moral or morally neutral for me to yield to that predisposition and ...perpetually rail against my neighbors and acquaintances.

Anyone who grew up in an old-time immigrant-Irish family can relate to your comment!
