I do object to Polygamy, but I have the intellectual honesty to admit that we worship the God of Polygamists (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob). Are you Intellectually Honest enough to admit that the BIBLE nowhere TELLS these dudes to be POLYGAMISTS?

It is infested with anti-Mormon propagandists with an agenda that does not preclude quite a bit of deception. And a WHOLE lot of MORMON 'scripture' that some wish would just GO AWAY!

7. The prophet tells us what we need to know, not always what we want to know.

See ???
When Resty asked the mormon profit about “just what it was that Joseph Smith claimed to have LEARNED that was UNTRUE about PRESBYTERIANism of his day” he/she wasnt compelled to tell her what she wanted to know...
Maybe thats why theres been no answer to the question...
Resty doesnt “have a need to know”
Gosh that sounds like the US military and not like any Christian denomination...
Silly Nana...
The mormon corporation is not Christan...
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Well,
Never mind...

...two of the comments were made at April General Conferences by your apostles...
There you go again - bashing us MORMONS by trying to equate what is said at these useless meetings as though there is some kind of SIGNIFICANCE to their words.
It ain't SCRIPTURE; doncha know!
Ooops! Did I just say USELESS?)

Elsie, Are you intellectually honest enough to admit that God has in the past condoned polygamy in the case of at least Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And that he is the same God yesterday, today and forever?
If your not that intellectually honest, maybe you should ask him to apologize to you for not living up to your expectations.

Polygamy was a well-established custom in the early Torah...Mosaic law didn't even criticize it OR sanction it...just set up some restrictions. Even Maimonides himself said that the Torah maintains that polygamous unions from a strictly legal point of view are permissible.
The Jews starting prohibiting polygamy around the year 1000, but only because society had changed, not Mosaic law...magritte

And that he is the same God yesterday, today and forever?
The SAME GOD that caused THESE words to be penned??
Holy Bible
1 Timothy 3:2-3
2. Now the overseer must be above reproach, the husband of but one wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,
3. not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.
1 Timothy 3:12
A deacon must be the husband of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well.
Titus 1:6
An elder must be blameless, the husband of but one wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.
Book of Mormon!!
THE BOOK OF JACOB
THE BROTHER OF NEPHI
CHAPTER 2
24 Behold, David and Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord.
25 Wherefore, thus saith the Lord, I have led this people forth out of the land of Jerusalem, by the power of mine arm, that I might raise up unto me a righteous branch from the fruit of the loins of Joseph.
26 Wherefore, I the Lord God will not suffer that this people shall do like unto them of old.
27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none;
28 For I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women. And whoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts.
29 Wherefore, this people shall keep my commandments, saith the Lord of Hosts, or cursed be the land for their sakes.
30 For if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise up seed unto me, I will command my people; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things.
31 For behold, I, the Lord, have seen the sorrow, and heard the mourning of the daughters of my people in the land of Jerusalem, yea, and in all the lands of my people, because of the wickedness and abominations of their husbands.
32 And I will not suffer, saith the Lord of Hosts, that the cries of the fair daughters of this people, which I have led out of the land of Jerusalem, shall come up unto me against the men of my people, saith the Lord of Hosts.

So ... essentially your telling me that God made a mistake in condoning polygamists in the past .... and that he really didn’t intend to?
Maybe you should ask him for an apology, maybe it was just an honest mistake!

I happen to have an ancestor who was killed by Indians while immigrating to Idaho. A brother-in-law stepped in and married the widow as a second wife and raised her children as his own rather than letting her die on the prarie
_______________________________________
Ya know I had at least TWO ancestors who were killed by Indians...
Neither of the widows were forsced to be the mistresses or concubines of their brother-in-law...
The men just stepped in and helped without propositioning the widow for sexual favors...
One widow took over the family business and ran the trading store by herself and remained unmarried for 35 yeasrs until her death...
Both families lived among the Indians..
Both women carried guns and were as good a shot as their husbands..
What was lacking in the blood of your ancestors that caused such a void of gumption ???
BTW my ancestors were Walloons and Lutherans respectively..
