The History channel did a profile on Galileo in the 1990s. There was no acknowledgment on the work of Copurnicous; he was completely written out of the picture.

We were repeatedly told that we would never have known the Earth revolves around the sun if not for Galileo and that he had to stand up to The Church. In fact they kept showing a staged “docudrama” scene of The Church Authorities taking Galileo into custody.

Very interesting!

Although it’s been so long since I’ve read about Copernicus and Galileo that I can’t remember which did what.

All they had to do was poke around under the floor of Fromberg Cathedral until they found his grave.

I love it.

Nice post.
