It’s actually nancy who came up with one of our family prayers: Lord give us what we need to do what you want.
I think it’s perfect.
(Of course the newer translations have it as, "on this day, the Lord has acted," which is probably right, but I grew up with the other one -- okay, except for the growing up part.)
