As a conservative, I hope that they do not start voting like Catholics.

"Mrs. Gingrich #2 was dumped after her husband had carried on an extramarital affair with a fetching, blond congressional staffer named Callista Bisek, who went on to become the present Mrs. Gingrich #3. This Family Values paradigm was complicated by the fact that whilst Mr. Gingrich was filibustering Ms. Bisek over the Speaker’s desk, he was simultaneously leading the impeachment charge against a naughty president of the United States....The much-married Newt Gingrich converts to Catholicism this weekend—and I’d pay a year’s salary to have been a bug on the wall during his religious instruction."

I’m not much into individual stories like that, I don’t think that it speaks to anything larger, it is just a story about a guy named Newt Gingrich.

****he was simultaneously leading the impeachment charge against a naughty president of the United States****

I dont understand how this writer can say Gingrich was "leading the impeachment charge". Newt was not on the House committee investigating the impeachment. Whenever he was asked about it he always says "ask Henry Hyde." BTW I wonder how that hopey/changey thing is working out for Mr. Buckley.

"Chjristopher Buckley"

Not surprising that your paragon of truth and objectivity publically endorsed Obama for President and was fired from the National Review and is now writing what amounts to a gossip column for Tina Brown... Alex, have you no pride?

sounds like the bible belt where the divorce rate and the rate of born agains are the highest....hmmm... do i see a pattern here?

And I thought that in the bible, divorce is wrong and forbidden.. I thought right...

I say to you, 7 whoever divorces his wife (unless the marriage is unlawful) and marries another commits adultery.”
