MetMom Serious Prayer Need--EATING threatened [Update @560]
Curious space between Quix's ears & consulatations w MetMom | 18 AUG 2010 | Quix

Posted on 08/21/2010 9:18:48 PM PDT by Quix

Metmom has had allergies and food allergies her entire life. In the last few years they have gotten steadily and progressively worse. Foods have been dropping out of her diet until she reached the point she is at now and can only eat rice, chicken, lamb, and venison. Anything else causes her to react rather destructively, debilitatingly.

The problem is that the repeated continual exposure to the few remaining foods, could lead to a sensitivity to those as well, which has just happened to two foods she had been safely eating since October.

There are options for nutrition should she start to react to all foods, but they are used only in the most dire situations. She's concerned about reaching that point--and frankly has been feeling more than a little discouraged by all such.

She has undergone extensive medical testing which has all been inconclusive. Almost everything comes back normal or negative, and the few things that she does test positive for aren’t what causes her the most problems.

She is attempting to get into a regional medical center for more specialized medical evaluation to see if they can determine the cause and possible treatment, if any exists.

She has been prayed for and anointed numerous times over the years, however, she would appreciated continued prayer for complete healing.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND HER PLIGHT with as much empathy as you can. She's been through a 1,001 suggestions and tried a LOT of different things. She's been through the Henry Wright seminar and prayers extensively. I don't think she is quite up to handling any more suggestions currently. Those who've been through such can understand such a feeling. She just greatly would appreciate your understanding and PARTICULARLY YOUR CARING PRAYERS.

This summary is per my understanding and might be stated somewhat differently were she writing it herself. I believe she'd affirm the truth of what I've said but these are essentially my words.

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR PRAYERS.

If you don’t mind me asking, what state(s) do you live in and how far were you moves?

Freepmail if it feels more comfortable

Also, if the water, dirt, some other sort of environmental/industrial contaminant is affecting your garden/home, they might be seriously non-oganic.

Okay, dont laugh on this one. It was a diagnosis for my German shepherd.. Super allergic. Digestive problems, sores on skin, lack of energy, lack of appetite...

I had done a lot research.. and when I started her on this, I also started ME on this. (BTW I am a vegetarian & already on a lot of supplements & follow the Fit for Life & a modified Mediterranean & modified macrobiotic)

I read how German shepherds and many people are allergic to molds & mildews that they pick up from grain products. Primarily wheat. I have gone to barley, wild rice & brown rice now primarily. For her it was scratch cooking & buying products that were safe.

The help also included high vitamin E, B1, Night primrose Oil. They said it would take 3 months to see a difference but I stated noting it in 2 weeks. I made all her food fresh & no cheap dry/wet food. The pretty high end that did not have the products at fault.

I have since read so much about the negative effects of mold mildew on foods/digestion etc.

I would seriously recommend you try to find a naturopathic physician. They are state certified & a genuine doc like a MD, osteopath etc. Just their emphasis is natural & not just piling meds on symptoms, but finding the cause. They do different tests. This is not voodoo. I am very impressed with the work they have done with my cancer patients

I have had many friends who have had excellent results with acupuncture over the years. (again the Chinese practitioners would recommend).

God is our ultimate physician but he gives us helpers professionally & with friends to find the way to understand our bodies. We in the USA do abuse, neglect our bodies.

I live in Central NY, which has been no secret.

Our moves have all been within NYS with the exception of a stint in NJ as a child.

There are no industries to speak of in our community. I’m aware of the possibility of incidental environmental pollution. I actually took a course on air pollution as part of my degree program so know that nothing is truly organic. But we’ve gotten as close to it as we can come.

I also drank raw goat milk for years, from people and goats I knew. It’s done wonders for my family.

Goat milk dropped out last year. Boy, was I bummed with that change.

WELLLLLLLLLLL! YEA!

THAT SETTLES IT. I’ll post the FREEPMAILS HERE, THEN:

Anonymously—they can claim ownership as they wish . . . just trying to abide by forum rules on such . . .

When she is up for suggestions, they are now treating food allergies like my old allergies I had - through gradually increased (in this case oral) exposure. I got injections to allergens as a child and outgrew them by my teens. THey are doing oral exposures to food proteins that cause allergies and gradually ramping them up over months and years to build the person’s tolerances back up so they outgrow the allergy. Sometimes they start with as little as 1/1000 of a percent of the protein they are allergic to.

They also have a sublingual therapy similar to above where a small amount of proteins are placed under the tongue and absorbed by the body that way.

Highly recommend my nutritionist, Dina Khader. She is in NY but does phone consults. She absolutely has helped everyone I know who I’ve sent to her (or had talk to on the phone) - I recommend her without reservation. I had the exact same issues my whole life: I AM NOW CURED. Dina has a unique blood-type-based system which WORKS FOR EVERYONE WHO TRIES IT. Check out http://www.dinakhader.com/ and especially the success stories (which are absolutely true - many of these people I actually know) http://www.dinakhader.com/success-stories/ - it sounds too good to be true, but it isn’t - she is the real deal. Dina’s approach is unique - her recommendations are totally personal and custom to each person, and there isn’t another nutritionist like her in America. TRY HER. (FYI she doesn’t take insurance but I guarantee you YOU WON’T REGRET IT.)

Anything else causes her to react rather destructively, debilitatingly.

Does this mean she reacts in a psychological way?

Has anyone checked/monitored her brain chemistry?

We’re currently treating one of my children in the context of allergies to just about everything. She’s also autistic. We’ve seen miraculous gains in both since we’ve been eliminating heavy metals. I breastfed her during dental work that involved amalgam removal. Shouldn’t have done that.

The heavy metals screw up the metabolic enzymes necessary for digestion. They’re everywhere. Some people just don’t eliminate them properly.

Will pray for her.

Dear Quix: Please don’t think I’m meddling or prescribing, but if her diet is so restrited, she might have some nutrition deficiencies. Try giving her magnesium supplemnts and B complex vitamins with her main meal. Food allergies are very frightening. There is a new diet plan called GAPS especially for people with food allergies. Look it up online and see if it fits her.

I will be praying for you. This is a very difficult thing to try to deal with.

I have pinged all the senders.

I feel very fortunate to never have a migraine anymore, unless I eat corn. Corn is hard to avoid because it is in so many things. Unfortunately the allergies to other things have continued to increase. I have many drug allergies and that disturbs me because someday I may need something to keep me alive and I won't be able to take it. Luckily I am extremely healthy for a 70 year old and I have asked the Lord to take me quickly when he is ready for me. My prayers for your health and comfort.

I just got a couple names of people to check out from someone at church today.

And even my OB highly recommended a naturalist in a nearby city who has a great track record.

I’ve been waiting until this month is over. I have three kids moving off to college within the next week, one to LA for grad school, and two to their respective colleges a couple hours away.

I will actually have time to plan after this.

Somewhere out there lies an answer. I pray that the Lord will lead you to the right place and the right person for that answer. I also pray that the Lord will give you the strength to “plow on” through this storm, and comfort you.

From reading what you've written we have similarities and your comments have given me insight into some of my own problems.

virtually all vegetables and most fruits.

I discovered that the reaction to these came about because my gut was already inflamed and they were like pouring acid on an open sore. Once everything has settle down I can eat most of them again.

Best of luck with finding a cause/cure.

If your daughter has similar allergies, I’d be curious in knowing if she sees any improvement by moving away. If so, that might be a clue your eventual recovery.

Just fishin for an answer!

Thanks.

Have looked into sublingual drop therapy and tried them for pollen allergies and reacted to the drops. My doctor was very honest that they only sometimes work for foods and sometimes make them worse.

I live in NYS and NY is close enough for me to check out.

I have ofen suspected amalgam and do have a lot of fillings. I’ve considered having them replaced but dread the procedure. It will not be a pleasant one. Finding a dentist who will do it and paying for it are also options, and since I’m not sure that is the problem, since I had them since I was born (pre fillings) I don’t know what role it plays or if it will even help.

An endocrinologist has been suggested by a medical professional and that is next on the list if other avenues don’t go through.

same reaction on my skin is happening internally.

It is . We purposely scheduled intestinal tests when my intestines were reacting.

Thanks.

Healing is what I really want, as I think it’s the only solution. I’d like the cause to be done, not just treat the symptoms.

Her allergies are pollen.

Knowing I had food allergies, I nursed all my kids for a good long time and they don’t react to any foods at all, even though two of the three have allergies. And, not coincidentally, those two were on anti-biotics the most as children. If I had to do it over again......

Anyway, her pollen allergies disappear when she goes on vacation anywhere outside this area, (except Atlanta), so she is very much looking forward to a bit of a reprieve.

The other day Wegman's, a high end grocery store, tricked me. They put finely ground bread crumbs in their vinegar and their oil. OH MY WORD. My son interrogated the lady at the deli counter to find that out and had her whimpering and crying and confessing that management made her do it. YOU CAN'T GET GLUTEN FREE distilled vinegar at Wegman's deli counter. They take a perfectly useful and safe product and poison it.

Isn't it just SICKENING??

My extreme sensitivity is to MSG. I have gone so completely off of it that I now am sensitive to the tiniest bit, so I can eat pretty much no processed foods. It's healthier, anyway. But the things the manufacturers do to get MSG into a product is as shocking as that deli counter.

The reason people "looove" the taste of the supermarket roasted chickens is because they inject the raw birds with "water" with MSG in it, and there is some loophole that they do not have to mention the MSG. Since MSG is an addicting taste, people want more and buy more. And wonder why their chicken doesn't taste as "good."

[Personally, I can make my chicken taste better than that salty, MSG flavored, store bought piece o' junk. Just get a free-range, organic whole chicken, stuff it with cut up lemons or onions or herbs or a combo, rub it down with salt and pepper -- I add tumeric for health and taste, but you needn't -- and roast it in a roasting pan (the one you use for your turkey) 20 minutes for each pound of bird. The first half of the cooking, make sure breast is DOWN. Flip the chicken half way through. You WILL thank me, as it's delicious and REAL.]
