Pressure is on to change the Roman Catholic Church in America, but it's not coming from the usual liberal suspects. A new breed of theological conservatives has taken to blogs and YouTube to say the church isn't Catholic enough.
Enraged by dissent that they believe has gone unchecked for decades, and unafraid to say so in the starkest language, these activists are naming names and unsettling the church...
I've gotta do some stuff today, so I hope one of you will jump in and ping this out and get the discussions going. I'll check back later...
Ping-a-ling!

The Catholic Conservative’s weapon against liberal religious dogma deeply ingrained in the architecture of their church is money, pure and simple. Do not give them the resources. Attend church, mass, whatever...but do not give them your money. Speak out, criticize and withold.
Not good enough.
Do not merely withhold your money from the dissenters, heretics, and assorted ne'er-do-wells.
GIVE your money to those parishes, orders, charitable entities which are authentically Catholic.
Who is going to save our Church?
Not our bishops, not our priests and
religious. It is up to you, the people.
You have the minds, the eyes, and the
ears to save the Church. Your mission
is to see that your priests act like priests,
your bishops act like bishops, and your
religious act like religious.
--Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, address to the Supreme
Convention of the Knights of Columbus in June 1972
Like the pro-abortion, thiefing, above it all Kennedy, Kerry, Pelosi, Biden, etc. families.
I stopped attending Mass because the Church doesn't live up to the 10 Commandments when it comes to the maggots above and other liberals in MA.
Give the Church a large donation and you're burial is at the Cathedral in Boston.... s pfffft
Didn’t mean to imply withold from all...of course, a right-thinking Parrish deserves support. Yet, you must realize they still have to pay tribute to the hierarchy....
You also have to know where all your donations are going. Just giving to the church is not enough. Look at the budget of the church, where are they spending the money? Don’t go for the idea of putting all money into the general fund. If you are active in a fund raiser for a specific purpose, demand that the money raised be used specifically for that purpose. People need to get involved more or don’t complain. It is said that a mere 10% of people really get involved. If people just give a hour a week of there time, aside from Mass, this would really help. Think about and give a little of your time.
Please understand that if you give money to a “conservative” novus ordo church, that money will still flow up to the next level and fund inappropriate training programs, pay off boyfriends, etc. You ought to find a good trad parish if this sort of thing bothers you.
Apostates and heretics most effected. .

Catholics complain, and rightfully so, that the church isn’t catholic enough.
They are called “Taliban Catholics”.
Hmmmmph. Sounds all too familiar.
My family is struggling right now with our “catholic” school and parish - secularism and liberalism (which of course had been creeping in for a long, long time) is rampant throughout, including with most parishioners.
I am glad to see this is picking up some steam. As it grows, we will see what the church is really about.
*** It appears to me, having participated in many a donneybrook on the FR Religion Forum, that the “dissenters” in the Catholic Church actually are the conservatives. ***
Agreed, but without me having participated in the FR Religion Forum. From what I see in my parish and read online, true catholics are conservatives.
Has Uncle Fulty ever commented on Vatican II? If so, can you give references?
I agree; you both make good points.

I know he was at the council.
Dissent away, I say. There is no perfect church of men and there are no perfect men to create an hierarchy. The Church is the body of believers.
There is much to find objectionable in Vatican II.
But, deluding oneself into the mainstream when one is not leads nowhere.
