Robert L. Millet The Most Correct Book...(Morm/LDS Video)
Sperry Symposium ^ | 2007 | Robert L. Millet

The Most Correct Book: Joseph Smith's Appraisal of the Book of Mormon

Robert L. Millet; he who is built upon the rock will we receive this work with gladness.

Much has been said and demeaning about bro Millet

...separating the wheat from the chatter of the tears!

I could not leave without leaving these words of bro Millet

Understand the words such as precepts, the word “most correct’ and how it was used in the 1800's, things of God are only known by the power and spirit of God, the truthfulness and much much more...

Most importantly again he who is built upon the rock receive this work with gladness

The Book of Mormon was met for the children of today and the thing of most worth was preserved.

The Book of Mormon is not on trial it is the people and the members of today and how they treat and what they do with the Book of Mormon.

The Book of Mormon is not on trial it is the people

Nope it is the BoM that is in question, the teachings of JS, BY and others.......it is the bastardization of the Word of God that is objectionable not the lds people in and of themselves.

YOu mean the book that has over 3000 substantive changes; and the Millet who instructed BYU students to lie to prospective Mormon converts?

You assume much here. Could you possibly conceive that people have watched the video and come away with the conclusions they post.
I would venture to say anyone founded in the Word of God watched the video and found it to be lacking.

So you dismiss the counsel in the NT and wish to call it a lie!

***

1 Peter 2

1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

1 Cor. 3
1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.

2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.

Heb. 5
11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing ye are dull of hearing.

12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

I do not dismiss the counsel in the NT:

2 Peter 2:1-3 (New International Version, ©2010)

2 Peter 2
False Teachers and Their Destruction
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves. 2 Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute. 3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

Trying to recruit new converts posting that video?

The Book of Mormon has been tested by many experts in various fields and not one will attest to that which it claims. In FACT they state it’s a fairy tale story made up in the mind of Joseph Smith as what is written of it’s History has nothing to support the places, people, time and events. Only Mormons believe this nonsense.

The original statement from bro Millet on how to deal with opposition such as this one by an anti Mormon

"Anti-Mormons..."
1:16 "ATTACK the faith you have..."
2:02 "We really aren't obligated to answer everyone's questions..."
3:57 "You already know MORE about God and Christ and the plan of salvation than any who would ATTACK you."
incomplete statements edited by Elsie

The whole statement as said by bro Millet

“We really aren't obligated to answer everyone's questions, I have not had all my questions answered, the Lord hasn’t chosen to do that, He probably hasn’t answered all of yours. Nor are we obligated to answer everyone else’s question.

I believe that many Mormons don’t believe it either. They just don’t know a way out.

These men were NOT called of God but called by the Pagan murder Constantine!

The Bishops of Nicea were very orthodox and correctly taught the Catholic Faith they received from Sacred Scripture and Tradition.
Joseph Smith is just another false teacher that the Bible says will arise and lead many astray. The Church did not need to be restored, Jesus gave His Word the gates of hell would not prevail against it and He is not capable of deceiving!

Constantine: The 13th Apostle

The Bishops of Nicea were very orthodox and correctly taught the Catholic Faith they received from Sacred Scripture and Tradition.

***

They were not called of God they were called by the Pagan Murder Constantine.

the Nicene Creed was etched in chaos

As time went on Constantine should become ever more involved with the Christian church. He appeared at first to have very little grasp of the basic beliefs governing Christian faith. But gradually he must have become more acquainted with them. So much so that he sought to resolve theological disputes among the church itself.

In this role he summoned the bishops of the western provinces to Arelate (Arles) in AD 314, after the so-called Donatist schism had split the church in Africa.

If this willingness to resolve matters through peaceful debate showed one side of Constantine, then his brutal enforcement of the decisions reached at such meetings showed the other.

Following the decision of the council of bishops at Arelate, donatist churches were confiscated and the followers of this branch of Christianity were brutally repressed.

Evidently Constantine was also capable of persecuting Christians, if they were deemed to be the 'wrong type of Christians'.

Constantine: The 13th Apostle (Who used Christianity to get gain a massive empire

Many Anti Mormons embraced the vision story of Constantine there is no announcement This is my beloved Son here him?

Constantine: The 13th Apostle

The use of a physical cross as a sign and symbol emerged gradually in the development of Christian practices.

While the theology of the cross is taught by Paul and the sign of the cross for baptism and protection is reported fairly early, the use of a physical cross rarely appears before the fourth century.(1)

At that time, two events involving Constantine led to the use of a physical cross or cross form by the state, the emerging church, and Christians.
