A Priest and an Altar Boy, Hah, Ha, Ha
American Thinker ^ | January 16, 2011 | Randall Hoven

Posted on 01/17/2011 12:04:15 AM PST by bogusname

This past June, Pope Benedict XVI said the church must promise "to do everything possible" to ensure that the sexual abuse of children by Catholic priests "will never occur again."

But the president of the Survivor Network of those Abused by Priests (SNAP) was not satisfied. She said, "Right now, kids are being assaulted by priests and bishops are concealing the crimes. And the pope continues taking no action to stop this." She said that the pope still ignores the main problem: "the ongoing recklessness, deceit, and callousness of bishops who, even now, protect predators instead of children."

No, bogus, it isn’t. If it was, I wouldn’t have asked.

Punchline? punch line: concluding phrase or line of joke, pun, or riddle

This is not a joke.

It seems to me that the Pope was addressing activity by priests within the church sphere, not schools. Comparing this problem to public schools is apples and oranges. Hoven is being disingenuous.

I didn’t know those ‘comedians’ poked fun at it. While that is bad enough for any victim of abuse to hear, they only target the CC. No idea why anyone listens to them.

Methinks it is a lame attempt to bash the Church.

Unfortunately the person didn’t read the article before he posted it.

Hoven is being disingenuous.

Quite the contrary. The article points out the double standard/hypocrisy of the secular media in turning a largely blind eye to sexual abuse in the public education system.

Behind every double standard lies an unconfessed single standard.

Am I just imagining the almost daily reports of schoolteachers abusing boys and girls? The “secular” media seems to relish these stories. How could you miss this?
