PROVO — The father of The 5 Browns — his face scratched with injuries from a spectacular Monday auto accident — pleaded guilty Thursday to sexually abusing his daughters when they were children.
Keith Brown, 55, appeared very solemn and serious during his appearance. He was just recently released from the hospital where he was treated for injuries from a Monday night accident in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
In a voice barely audible, Brown pleaded guilty to sodomy on a child, a first-degree felony, and two counts of sex abuse of a child, a second-degree felony.
Brown will be sentenced March 31 at 10 a.m. Prosecutors will recommend that he spend 10 years to life in prison.
The charges against him were only filed last week. But police have been working on the case for months, and the resulting charges and Thursday's plea were part of an agreement reached between prosecutors, Brown's attorney and his daughters — Desirae, 32; Deondra, 30; and Melody, 26.
Brown's attorney, Steve Shapiro, said he has been having discussions with prosecutors about the case for past six months.
"Today was the next step in a very long process that Keith has been going through to accept responsibility," Shapiro said. "He's terribly remorseful for what has happened and what he's put his family through."
Shapiro said his client first went to his LDS bishop to confess the abuse. But prosecutor David Sturgill said it was the daughters who first reported the abuse to police.

So...the Mormon bishop had the information...didn't provide it to police.
Let's see...where did we recently hear of something similar? Oh, yeah: Did fellow Mormons cover up officer's baby molestations?
Same thing in that case -- where the wife of the perp told the bishop, who hung onto the info for a while.
Does he get a lighter prison time since he pleaded guilty? I hope he is beaten to a pulp in prison, and he finds out what it is to be used as a sex toy. Creep.
How did this come out? He had an accident and then this all came out? Men who do this are so evil.
He likely will be if they put him in the general prison population. And I'm all for that.

Somewhere I saw a picture of the car, it is amazing that he and his wife survived the crash. It looked totaled. Prayers for the children of this pervert, it wouldn’t surprise me if it comes out that he also abused the boys. These acts are never about sex they are about control.
He needs more hanging.
Likely his daughters were subjected to this all their lives.

If not, he too should be imprisoned as an accessory after the fact.
Let’s think a moment. A well known anti-Mormon activist/propagandist posts threads/links/articles constantly that are in some way linked to Mormons. Like this one for example.
Hmmm..... if he were only concerned with the victims and justice just as myself and everyone else I personally know is, and that is his only concern, then why no threads about crimes committed by persons of other faiths and of course pointing out clearly what faith they are?
Could it be that concern for the victims and justice for the perpetrators is NOT his main focus? Hmmmmm..... Just a question to ponder.
