Natural disasters 'escalating like labor pains' may be linked to the return of Jesus, says Rev. Franklin Graham. In an exclusive Newsmax.TV video, the evangelist says the end could come in 2012 or later.

I'd like to see the passage that tells the reader that the literal description is not to be taken literally.
Where else in the Bible are we to take it upon ourselves to take a literal passage and allegorize it into meaninglessness?
But thanks for the ping anyway.
Ezekiel 38 and 39 will probably be the catalyst for the signing of the seven year peace treaty.
It seems like we’re headed for major drama worldwide in the not too distant future.
I love the recent prophecies I’m hearing that the Lord will loose supernatural power on His saints to do miracles and to draw the lost to Him.
Yesterday our Pastor preached “It’s dark out there” in reference to how He is the Light of the World and He shines through us. It was a very stirring message.
Such hope. Such excitement to see how He lifts His kids up no matter what catastrophes and disasters and toxic spills and hardships are happening.
It’s an honor to be alive “for such a time as this”. If/when/how Jesus comes back, even if it’s not for 500 years, God created this world, He loves this world, and He uses US to reach out to this world.
Maybe not for 500 years, maybe tomorrow morning. Let’s be ready.
LOL!
It must be true! I read it on the Internet!
We are commanded to know the season and watch for His return.
The fools are those who ignore that command and refuse to look around them and see the signs and recognize that we are living in the generation that Jesus said would be the one on earth when He returns.
The fools are like the fools in Noah's time who laughed for 120 years until the only avenue of escape was shut up and the judgment begin to fall.
"As it was in the days of Noah"... We are surrounded by overwhelming evidence.
And no, I am not a Jehovah's Witness. I'm a Charismatic Evangelical. The Jehovah's Witnesses love that book and they're always talking about the 144,000.
Here's v-4:
"Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel
- He heard their number, 144,000 which is clearly a symbolic number, later he sees them as a great multitude which no one could count. In the NT the church it is described as the Israel of God, Gal 6:16, and as Abraham's seed in Gal 3:29, in Rom 4:16 Abraham is the father of those who believe.
Well, according to Scripture, His second coming will be to end the war of Armageddon, judge the unsaved, and set up His one thousand year earthly reign.
It's very simple and clear.
What Scripture are you reading that even hints that the specific number of 144,000 is symbolic?
Amen Joya!
I also think..just my personal opinion...The LORD looks to those who are seeking his return, who are looking up! as our redemption comes to a close!
Does he want to see his flock just ignoring the SIgns and Seasons, and say..Well he’s not coming for at least 1000 years...
I believe the LORD is steps away from the door!
Maranatha!
Absoloutley Giovanna!
The fools are the ones who mock the LORD’s return and say no he is not near, they ignore the Signs and Seasons.....
As you say:
Jesus said..As in the Days of Noah, so it shall be....
Maranatha!
It must be true! I heard it on the NEWS!
It must be true!!
>>Ezekiel 38 and 39 will probably be the catalyst for the signing of the seven year peace treaty.<<
Thats what Ive been thinking also. It makes the most sense.
Revelation is symbolic unless it is clearly literal. The fact that each of the twelve tribes consists of exactly 12,000 suggests a symbolic interpretation.
It's symbolic because if it is literal, and you're not a member of the following tribes, you're out.
7:1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: 3 "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God." 4 Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel. Rev 7:5-8
From the tribe of Judah 12,000 were sealed,
But since there's a great multitude, greater than 144,000 it becomes symbolic.
Sure is and that’s the Rapture, the Second Coming. If he came before then it’d be the Third Coming.
But not all, since the post you were repying to (#215) got pulled.
TaraP,
“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads, for your redemption draweth nigh.” - Luke 21:28
Just wanted to share this with you: I don’t know why, but I have heard this scripture over and over this past weekend, uttered at different times (from our pastor, on TV, other places). I agree other things need to happen, but we are VERY close. And now Reverend Franklin Graham is speaking on this, too. How can we not get excited about the return of our beloved Savior? :D
That would be a post trib rapture, It would also deny the seven years left to deal with only Israel and require that the church is present for the entire tribulation. Is that what you believe?
Or maybe FreeRepublic can designate you your own little spot on the sidebar, and call it the "End of the World" thread!
((mostly) joking)
Without inserting your own logic and reasoning for allegorizing the text, which doesn't count, give the Scripture where God indicates that the literal number of 144,000 given and the tribes literally listed are to be allegorized.
Where do you get the authority to change something God wrote and clearly intended to be read literally into allegory?
