Some 5,500 Ethiopian immigrants will celebrate the seder together in 16 absorption centers throughout Israel.
About 1,000 of the new Ethiopian immigrants have arrived in recent months and will celebrate their first Passover in Israel, according to the Jewish Agency for Israel.
The large seders are organized by the Jewish Agency and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
At a model seder on Thursday, some of the new immigrants will learn about Passover holiday customs and practice the holiday songs at a model seder at the Jewish Agency`s Mevasseret Zion Absorption Center. They will be joined by Natan Sharansky, chairman of the Jewish Agency Executive; Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, president of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews; and Sofia Landver, Israel's Minister of Immigrant Absorption.
All of us Christians do this -- we reject the anti-semitic stance of the OrthodoPresbyterian C (OPC) which tells its members to " not celebrate the Seder or other Jewish festivals. " --> These people, the OPC are not Christian and we reject their anti-Jewish and anti-Christian beliefs
oh, that's going to be picked upon by the opposition...
Oh, yes, now you just have to wait to see the OrthodoPresbyterian C (OPC) to come and start talking about blood libels (can you believe they still promote that, thank God it’s a small anti-Christian/Jewish group of just 10,000 adults)
careful — the OPC prowls the FreeRepublic forum to shout out it’s anti-semitism and it howls out blood libel each time.
Remember friends to wish our Jewish friends on passover and perhaps celebrate it with them if necessary — we will show our disgust to the anti-Christian, anti-Jewish OrthodoPresbyterian C (OPC)’s anti-semitic fatwas
Amen.
The OPC is pretty loud and bombastic for such an insignificant little cult.
Remember that this is not a Christian Church, but one that preaches hatred against all Christians and Jews and seeks only to have us fight.
How numerous is this group spreading hatred?
The OPC and PCA combine consisting of about 400,000 people, yet the OPC was formed in the 1930s and has had two splits since then. It is heading for it's third split.
This is what an ex-Ruling Elder of the OPC says about this group:
Are they spreading their message of hate?
Despite the crowing that one may hear or read, the actual numbers show a large number leaving the Presbyterians as a whole
2009 membership | 2010 membership | Lost | Gained
PCUSA | 2,934,952 | 2,844,952 | 90,000
PCA | 335,000 | 340,000 | 5,500
OPC | 21,123 | 21,530 | 407 | |
Disappearing Presbyerians | 84,100 |
The truth is that they shout a lot more on internet forums, giving one a wrong idea of their actual size. Why should one oppose these attackers of Christianity and America?
Because they attack the very foundations of our country by having made God into a monster who DECIDES on creating evil -- they do this when they state that God has decided it is better to bring good out of evil, than not to permit any evil to exist.
They neglect to ask themselves How does God decide anyway since He knows the outcome? Is He NOT sure in the first place and needs to make a decision because He does not understand Himself ,thus making Him not ALL knowing?
If the OPC robot-maker god created evil than evil is part of the essence of the OPC/PCA idea of God. This is not the Christian God
The OPC/PCA believe that Christ has evil in Him as part of His essence since the second person of the Trinity is God incarnate. This is a horrendous belief that leads only to more people leaving Christ.
The OPC and the PCA (combined are 350,000) posters have one aim only -- attacking anyone who is not a member of their little groups
It’s a pity that the OPC keeps its fatwa on members celebrating Seder with their Jewish friends or even wishing them. I guess the anti-semitism runs too deep and the hatred is too engrained in the OrthodoPresbyterian C.
All you need to do is report any problems to the AM for the religion forum and any offending stuff is removed.
Also I want to add in advance, to all the Jewish people and to the Jewish FRpers ahead of time, a good and blessed Passover also.
¨Next year in Jerusalem!¨
Thanks Cronos.
Yes, to all the Jewish people and to the Jewish FRpers ahead of time, a good and blessed Passover also.
Really? I wish you well on your journey.
