"I'm here just as I expected."
I don’t know when Christ will return. Anyone who says he does know is a liar.
Live every day as if God were arriving on the next plane. He wants up to be happy while we wait.
So true. If we live our lives like tomorrow is our last the world would be a much better place. IMHO
I think not knowing makes us better Christians.
“The Rapture occurred. God found no one worthy of taking.”
- Harold Camping
Hey folks, Harold Camping probably skipped town with the ministry portfolio.
I’ve met the flawed man.
That’s not one of his flaws.
He’s not accepted a single penney from his ministry.
He’s a total volunteer.
He retired from being a Civil Engineer, IIRC.
I would tend to agree. It also gives, for Christians and non-Christians, a much better view of what a person is really like.
He is here everyday.
He IS here everyday.
BTW, this book was written in 1881; you wouldn't believe how accurate it is!
In the late nineteenth century, Father Charles Arminjon, a priest from the mountains of southeastern France, assembled his flock in the town cathedral to preach a series of conferences to help them turn their thoughts away from this lifes mean material affairsand toward the next lifes glorious spiritual reward. His wise and uncompromising words deepened in them the spirit of recollection that all Christians must have: the abiding conviction that heavenly aims, not temporal enthusiasms, must guide everything we think, say, and do.
When Father Arminjons conferences were later published in a book, many others were able to reap the same benefitincluding fourteen-year-old Thérèse Martin, then on the cusp of entering the Carmelite convent in Lisieux. Reading it, she says, plunged my soul into a happiness not of this earth. Young Thérèse, filled with a sense of what God reserves for those who love him, and seeing that the eternal rewards had no proportion to the light sacrifices of life, copied out numerous passages and memorized them, repeating unceasingly the words of love burning in my heart.
Now the very book that so inspired the Little Flower is available for the first time in English.
Let the pages of The End of the Present World and the Mysteries of the Future Life fill you with the same burning words of love, with the same ardent desire to know God above all created things, that St. Thérèse gained from them. Let them also enrich your understanding of certain teachings of the Faith that can often seem so mysterious, even frightening:
Jesus commands us to be ever-watchful for his return, and ever-mindful that we have no lasting city on earth. The End of the Present World and the Mysteries of the Future Life is an invaluable aid to inculcating in your spirit that heavenly orientation, without which true human happiness cannot be foundin this world or the next.
Exactly. He may be coming back any minute, or (and even more likely) we could be going to be with HIM) at any moment. Live your life accordingly. And God bless you all. :)
How are you feeling today?
This stupidity has been used by some anti-Christian forces to portray how wrong and stupid Christians are. To that, I usually say, “All Muslims try to kill Americans!” Well, perhaps some Muslims don’t. Still, unlike these Christian leaders, Muslim leaders didn’t even try to denounce the statement publicly.
Maybe that was His plan all along. :;
Lacking a completely accurate roll call, we seem to be lacking the rolling, destructive earthquakes from time zone to time zone.
Man plans, God laughs. It’s not for us to say.
Thanks tons for your caring.
It appears that the bleeding really has stopped. PRAISE GOD FOR THAT!
And . . . joy . . . I received a new appointment for a followup 2nd colonoscopy . . . as soon as I find out whether the date is for Sept or Nov. LOL.
Much appreciate your caring and prayers.
I have more energy today. PTL.
"The world didn't end. I told you not to worry. See Mark 13:32
"NO ONE knows the day when these things will happen;not the angels nor THE SON HIMSELF! Only the Father knows"
It is not Scripturally necessary to teach that the Lord Jesus Christ, sitting presently at His Father's Right Hand does not NOW know the day or hour of His future return.
It was in the present-tense of His earthly ministry, in "the days of His flesh," (Hebrews 5:7) when men knew Him after the flesh (2 Cor. 5:16), in His humiliation, that he, along with the angels, were not cognizant of His future return ---- which, by the way, is not a reference to the rapture of the Body of Christ, but to His coming to earth to reign from David's Throne (Ps. 2; etc.)
To teach that the Glorified Christ STILL(in OUR present) is ignorant of the time of His future return is unnecessary to New Testament doctrine.
It illustrates a big missing principle in Rick Warren's study of the Scriptures, and why he gets so many other things fouled up as well. He doesn't even know how to read and interpret past, present, and future tenses in the contexts of the pasts, presents, and futures to which they belong.
I’m glad you’re feeling better, sorry you have to have another. YUCK. :( Prayers.
The damage this Nut does to the message Christians are trying to get out to the unsaved is unmanageable. Using phrases like The Bible Guarantees It, only makes it harder for our missionaries and evangelist to discuss the Gospel with those who dont know the Bible, particularly in foreign lands where much of his advertising was done.
And when discussing prophecy and end-time events with others we will be forever doing damage control, when they come back with wasnt that supposed to happen back in May of 2011?
This is why Jesus gave a special warning in Mathew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Seeing Dr. Dover, Dr. Ben Dover? Sorry, been there, done that, don’t want to do it again.
May God be with you as you heal, friend.
One of the 6 polyps taken out was as big as the end joint of my little finger. Biopsy due in a week.
Soooooooo, am thankful I followed through. Praise God for making it clear to me that I needed to.
A repeat performance is certainly not my favorite recreation.
Besides, who knows what shape the world will be in in 3-6 months!
Thx for your kind reply.
LOL.
Took me a 2nd or 2 to figure out that one.
Thx for your kind reply.
I never met a con man I didn't like. I was on the Board of Directors of a local not-for-profit whose Executive Director didn't take a salary but embezzled the place for more than $500,000.
I’ve certainly lost count on the number of times I’ve been wrong long ago.
However . . .
Camping’s personality is just not like that.
I think he’d be more likely to give his shirt for the cause and go down gladly in flames . . . FOR THE CAUSE.
I’d expect him to be scrupulously honest to the point of absurdity. e.g. knocking on neighbors doors to see if the nickle on the sidewalk was theirs.
RE: I think hed be more likely to give his shirt for the cause and go down gladly in flames . . . FOR THE CAUSE.
Good intentions are no substitute for Biblical Wisdom.
You know the old adage about the road to hell and what it is paved with...
RE: Id expect him to be scrupulously honest to the point of absurdity
An honest person would REPENT and say publicly I WAS WRONG and APOLOGIZE for misleading many people. If Camping does that, then maybe he can be reconciled with but not until.
That aspect may be true, yet he is more than just flawed, but has
flagrantly taken the name of God in vain by claiming God revealed the rapture would occur on May 21,
and given occasion for the name of Christ to be blasphemed among the heathen,
and placed a stumbling block before the simple who heeded him,
and seduced them into loss of substantial amounts of time and money
and seriously impugned the integrity of the Bible and prophecy among the ignorant public by asserting it guaranteed his false prediction,
and has made a mockery of Biblical hermeneutics with his any-digit-will-do methodological madness,
while also teaching heresies such as that Jesus died twice,
and denying eternal torment,
and the nature of the church and its preservation,
and damning all who are in the visible church
while making those who agree with him to be the elite enlightened, etc.
Certainly we all have erred, but this man has willfully and boldly gone to extremes few have gone before, with his erroneous esoteric eschatology and egregious elitism, and effectively has become an instrument of the devil who is the author of deception.
AGREED.
AGREED.
AGREED.
Hungover from having my last drink(s)
The Rapture DID happen. It's just that no one qualified.
The only way to know for sure, is look at the little sign on the shop window. If it says "Be Back in 15 Minutes", you can count on it.
hmmmmmmmmmmmm
RE: Hey folks, Harold Camping probably skipped town with the ministry portfolio.
Reuters reported that the curtains were drawn in Camping’s house in Alameda, California on May 21, and nobody was answering the door.
See here:

RE: The Rapture DID happen. It’s just that no one qualified.
Followers of Camping claimed that around 200 million people (approximately 3% of the world’s population) would be raptured.
SEE HERE :
http://www.familyradio.com/graphical/literature/judgment/judgment.html
LOL. Con men are indeed incredibly likeable.
Could it be because our Lord WANTS us to proclaim the good news of the Gospel to others?
First Camping and now Laz claiming to know. False prophets everywhere.
Hmmmmmm.
So . . . Camping’s judgment on anthing should be trusted now . . . why?
You’re still here??!
:) Or should I say :(
Wellllllllllll
it’s not my favorite recreation!
Well for the procedure you’re asleep (or should I say you think afterwards you were asleep—there is some controversy about that!) But it’s the preprocedure that is really NOT FUN! :)
INDEED.
I woke up as they were about to snip the last of 6 polyps—the biggest one. LOL.
“We’ll get it right one of these days.”
Well of course he’s not answering the door. He was raptured. He’s in paradise - Tahiti, perhaps.
