The Christian radio host who predicted the world would end over the weekend said Monday he's ready to talk about why the apocalypse didn't arrive.
Harold Camping declined to immediately comment to The Associated Press but said he'll make a full statement in a broadcast through his Oakland-based Family Radio International.
"I will have more to say tonight," said Camping, an 89-year-old retired civil engineer who previously said there was no possibility the Rapture would not occur at 6 p.m. Saturday. "I will be putting out a message in our broadcast."
Camping had preached that some 200 million people would be saved, and that those left behind would die in a series of scourges visiting Earth until the globe is consumed by a fireball on Oct. 21.
His earlier apocalyptic prediction in 1994 also was a bust, but he said it didn't happen because of a mathematical error.
He told the San Francisco Chronicle on Sunday he was "flabbergasted" his latest doomsday prophecy did not come true.

I want a personal apology! I had a tremendous hang over Saturday!
My theory is that the Rapture did occur, but none of us were found worthy. I thought about having my wife call in to work for me and tell my boss that I had disappeared on Saturday, but I figured they would find someone to replace me before lunch.
Maybe it really DID happen and none of us, including Mr. Camping, were chosen...

Bush’s fault.
He is in need of adult supervision and jail time.
Good one! A “Bush’s fault” just when you’d least expect it!
Hey, just being here still doesn’t prove that the rapture didn’t happen. A creepy thought,,,
Yeah, it was rather disappointing that the massive earthquake didn’t happen. I’d been looking forward to a decent foot massage.
The one person taken was Randy “Macho Man” Savage.
He went back through his Hebrew numerology and realized he forgot to carry the aleph. D’oh!

"It hasn't shaken my faith, and we're still searching the Scriptures to understand why it did not happen," said Von Harringa, president of EBible FellowshipStart with Matthew 24:36.
re: why the apocalypse didn’t arrive.
I can tell him exactly why it didn’t arrive. It’s thank to him, thank you. Jesus said no one, not even Him or the angels knew when He would return, only His Father in Heaven. If this yahoo had been correct then it would have meant that Jesus was either mistaken or lied, neither of which is possible.
Even if it HAD been scheduled for exactly when the guy said it was God would have had to change the time in order to keep Word that no one would know when it was to happen.
If the guy really did want the rapture to occur, and that’s the prayer and hope of every Christian, then he should have kept his ideas to himself!
So, next time someone says Christ will return this day or that day, or this hour or that hour, you can be pretty sure He won’t.
His return will be like the bridegroom who arrives unannounced. Bet on it!
Through a horrible mistranslation it turned out that the Rupture occurred on Saturday. Now 200 million people need hernia surgery.
bttt
Probably not. It will be interesting.
I flipped TBN on a few times, wondering what he would be saying, of course, he was nowhere to be seen. Instead, they finally had the nice Bible readings, Diane Bish’s wonderful music shows.
Amazing how people can be “stiff-necked”, refusing to admit even the most basic of errors, even as in this case where it’s not just himself he has confused, but he leads others astray, which, as he full well knows intellectually, is worse than only leading oneself astray.
And yet such a wonderful opportunity for him to unequivocally repent.
