18 Signs the Collapse of Society is Accelerating
RightlyConcerned ^ | June 9, 2011 | Unattributed

As the U.S. economy collapses, the thin veneer of civilization that we all take for granted is going to begin to disappear. In fact, there are already an increasing number of signs that the collapse of society is accelerating. In cities such as Chicago, roving packs of young people are "mob robbing" local businesses, randomly assaulting tourists and shoppers and are even pulling people out of vehicles. This isn't just happening in the "bad areas" anymore. Over the past couple of months this type of crime has been common in some of the wealthiest areas of Chicago. In fact, many Chicago residents are now referring to "the Magnificent Mile" as "the Mug Mile". But it isn't just in Chicago that this is happening. During this past Memorial Day weekend, cities all over the United States experienced a stunning wave of mass violence. We are supposed to be an "example" for the rest of the world, but as our economic wealth crumbles we are witnessing the collapse of society all around us. So what is going to happen when the economy gets even worse?

We Get what we Deserve

Often that's true. We get more of what we will tolerate and/or encourage and then deserve the consequences, good or bad.

Unfortunately, we've become extremely tolerant of very bad behavior and extraordinarily bad governance.

Fortunately, the rise of the Tea Party tells me we're just about finished being tolerant.

This is a good list. Add to it that the Kagin-Sotomeyer Supreme Court just ordered the release of 46,000 convicted felons from California’s prisons.

This would never have happened with Big Al Capone in charge of Chicago—maybe we need to take a giant step backwards? Seriously folks, we may not have a choice.

Though road rage is inexcusable, regardless of what the speed limit is, if you are driving slower than the rest of traffic...you are causing a hazardous situation. The chances of an accident occuring multiply, because of people making unnecessary lane changes. Slow drivers are almost as much of a hazard as speed demons (even if the “slow driver” is traveling at the maximum legal speed). I have found in driving in all 50 states that the vast majority of drivers drive 5-7 mph above the posted speed limit most of the time.

I guess I’m in the minority. I always assumed a sign stating the legal speed limit was in fact, the law and not just a suggestion. I had no idea I could violate it at my whim by 5-7 MPH.

Of course, when I did my original drivers education class, I was taught that on a freeway or highway system, the middle or inside lane is to be used by people who have no intention of getting off the freeway in the near future. That when you were approaching your desired exit, to signal, and begin moving over a lane at a time, towards whatever the ‘exit’ lane happens to be. That while I’m in my lane of extended driving (say, on the interstate), that I’m much safer staying in the lane that doesn’t have people getting off/on/off/on, as long as I am staying at the posted speed limit.

Now, if you feel the ‘need for speed’, and I’m following the law - it’s not MY problem.

If you haven’t already it’s time to prepare. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.

I think that we are at the very least in for a collapse much like that of Argentina’s ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yerKMQc7-w&feature=grec_index), but as a armed society with a very large entitlement minded population our collapse will be much more violent and I see many many small business wiped out by flash mob looting, and large scale violence (look at what happened just this past Memorial Day weekend)and then there is this is going on in Chicago:”Emanuel said he spoke with McCarthy over the weekend and again this morning about the situation. The mayor said the city’s reputation as a safe place to work and shop downtown is being endangered by the thuggery. Many of the attacks are happening near the biggest tourist and shopping attractions in the city.

But, CBS 2’s Jim Williams reports, the problem of mob attacks downtown is much bigger than the weekend beatings, according to beat cops who wanted to remain anonymous.”

And it’s not just Chicago most major big ‘Blue’ cities are increasingly reporting such flash mobs and gang muggings.

I see what I call ‘Pocket Pogroms’ taking place in many big ‘Blue’ cities and if you aren’t a “0bamamites’ yute” it’s going to get Reginald Denny bad for you very quickly.

For those who haven’t prepared and would like to start or for those that have and are just interested you may download my Preparedness Manual at:

http://www.tomeaker.com/kart/preparedness1i.pdf

As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Or as the bible says: A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
NIV Proverbs 22:3

BHOmo got tired of the FReepers saying “Amish” when referring to “Holder’s people”.

My O-bot neighbor called me yesterday and informed me that some Right-Wing-Cabal is using the Secret Service to hold Mooshell and the kids (and the dog, for all I know) hostage to force Zero to do stupid things....

My response: "Yeah? Who's holding you hostage?

One never knows what the other person has been going through, and a smile or nice gesture may make their entire day. Or, as I point out to my teenage son, it may be the last straw to the guy driving by that he goofs of to (”Hey - we’re walking here!!!”)

You remind me of the older guy in the checkout line in front of me once where there was a snafu in front of him, and the checkout gal said “Sorry for the wait”. He replied “That’s okay, I’m in no hurry. If I was in a hurry I would have gotten here yesterday!”

"I step back from the check out lanes or yeild [sic] to merging cars on the highway. Makes me feel better"

The people behind you are, no doubt, pleased to be inconvenienced in order to make you feel better.

Reminds me of die hard Stalinists in the USSR. Even when their loved ones were taken off to the Gulag, they would say “If only Stalin knew about this!”, when of course he was the one responsible.

The LCP used to be my "constant carry." But without a pocket holster it would wear a hole in the pocket. After two pairs of pants I got this:

Click pics to enlarge.

.22 mag has near the muzzle energy of a .38 or 9 mil.

"if you feel the ‘need for speed’, and I’m following the law - it’s not MY problem"

Government sets those limits you so sanctimoniously obey. Quit being a hazard to others (and yourself) and travel the prevailing speed. People know best, not the government.

Looks neat.

I'll probably be going to a .38 instead of going smaller. Pants are a small expense considering the times.

Just because I’m old - doesn’t mean I’m stupid.

I don’t brake to yield - I check my mirrors before moving into an open lane so as not to inconvenience anyone. You apparently don’t bother.

I had to practice a lot with my exact same maggie in holster grip. I couldn’t hit a soda bottle at ten paces, until I realize the thing was shooting high! I like mine, keep it loaded with hollow points, too.
