“not true, he can say whatever he wants”
You obviously don’t understand the guidelines that a Priest has to adhere to, when accused.
He can say nothing about his accuser.
he is no longer a priest, what’s to stop him now from telling the truth? or does he want $19.99 to tell it in “black sheep”? again, the woman will be paid off and he will have millions left over. he’s as phony as the dyed black beard.
Maybe it will be in the book since he says he is no longer a priest.I also wonder if he can sue this person now that he is leaving the priesthood.
yeah, he is going to maximize book sales, money, money, money. and the ladies love guys with the money.
Show me the link where the Catholic Church states he is no longer a priest.
He asks that we pray for all involved, including his accuser.
read his statement, its says formerly known as father. he is chasing the bucs and women, open your eyes.
He is a piest until the Church says he is not...or he formally resigns...I believe.
Deplorable accusation you are making about chasing women and bucs. This man dedicated his life to the Church and to Christ. Honestly, you don’t know anything.
Projection on your part perhaps? Do you honor your fidelity. Defend yourself. But, until you do that your posting privileges are revoked. (just sayin)
You’re not the lone voice.
The process is a joke. I can’t blame Fr. Corapi. In theory, yes, he should have modeled his behavior after the saints. But he reacted in a very human, very understandable manner.
I pray that he will still allow himself to be an instrument of God.
i have my eyes wide open, i could be wrong of course, but the signs are all there. you don’t give up the priesthood for process. you do give up the priesthood for money and women. just saying.
why doesn’t he just come clean and stop with the lawyers, book deal, etc?
Amen. Fr. Corapi knows he cannot win this battle on this battlefield so he is retreating. He is regrouping and changing tactics. I understand what he is doing here and it makes sense. Many Saints have been persecuted by the very Church they defend to the death. This is nothing new and very old.
Secondly, Please refrain from calumny, it is a terrible sin.
you say it’s calumny, but that’s what the defenders of Weiner were saying. where there is smoke, there is fire. his own statement says he did more to help this woman than anyone else, he doesn’t deny the relationship. the truth will come out. why all the lawyers??
Has he formerly resigned the Priesthood and has the Bishop accepted it or is he just suspended indefinitely? Please tell us if you know.
How many Saints have been persecuted by the Church over the ages? Suspended from their ministry, not allowed to hear confession or offer Mass? Do you know?
From our American legal system do you believe in the concept of knowing your accuser and the charges against you? Is that not a good and virtuous thing? Fr. Corapi is stating in his message that it is not the Canon law but the selective use that is causing the problem.
the truth will come out. be sure to buy his book though, the woman will need a tidy sum to keep all this quiet.
So you don’t think this is the devil attacking Catholic priests?
I do.
absolutely the devil is attacking Catholic priests. it doesn’t excuse this priest’s behaviour though.
**Now, we have to figure out how the laity can work to explain this to the bishops without bruising the wrong personas....**
And change WILL come from the laity.
In the case which I have spoken of many times, the jury went into the deliberation room and one of the jurors announced, “Well, he’s a Catholic priest, he has to be guilty.”
There were state recrods to prove that the priest was NOT guilty, but it sure took a toll on our own communities of faith.
I don’t believe you have known a priest personally that has gone through this horrid process even though he was innocent of the charges.
Please think about it.
I don’t believe you have known a priest personally that has gone through this horrid process even though he was innocent of the charges. (And in this case, all we have is allegations — no charges.)
Heck they haven’t (Fr. Corapi and his attorneys) been able to review the allegations. Something is very fishy and stinky right here.
Please think about it.
