I teach Sunday School every week. We are studying the New Testament and I teach about the very same Jesus in the very same bible.

I know your heart aches for not being able to live the commandments. I know its hard and takes discipline. Good luck with everything. Maybe some day you will come back or at least let go of the hatred.

Good luck with everything

Are you a superstitious Mormon?

What does "luck" have to do with reality in a world run by a sovereign god? Or since you worship a god who can't be everywhere at once, is it that you have to rely upon luck and trust luck?

I know your heart aches for not being able to live the commandments. I know its hard and takes discipline.

Reaganaut, notice the almost palm-reading type of comment we see here with the pure assumptions this stranger makes about your life.

This is the typical "blame game" Mormons engage in. If you've become a Jack Mormon or an ex-Mormon, the problem they assume is that it's you (plural).

Notice how the Lds "prophet" Spencer W. Kimball did this in his book that I have -- President Kimball Speaks Out (1981, Deseret Book Company, which is owned by the Mormon church): "If you are bored at a testimony meeting, there is something the matter with you, and not with others." (Kimball, p. 22)

Ya hear that Ben? Ya hear that all Lds? If you've EVER -- even one time -- been bored at an Lds testimony meeting. Why it's NEVER been in the history of Mormonism because of some flighty Mormon(s) or over-emotional Mormons or I've-said-this-same-testimony 1,000 times Mormon or pick-your-fave-boring-testimony Mormon.

Nope, said Kimball. 'Twas you! 'Cause YOU, Mr. or Mrs. Grassroots Mormon, says the "prophet" on high, are ALWAYS the problem...says Kimball...and says this same attitude that Mormons like Ben come to show based upon Mormon leader models like Kimball!

Maybe some day you will come back or at least let go of the hatred.

More assumptions of Reaganaut.

Beyond repeating what the Bible universally says about all people, do you always go around yielding specific moral judgments involving complete strangers? Or is that something you've reserved for Reaganaut on this thread?

How is it that in 1 Samuel 16:7 it says that man only looks at the outer part, but somehow YOU are able to 100% size up Reaganaut's INNER heart when you don't even know her? Doesn't it say that ONLY God sees the inner person there? Yes?

Don't you think you owe Reaganaut an apology? Is this the way you treat non-Mormons in your community? If you were ever an Lds missionary -- or plan on becoming one, would this have been the way you treated non-Mormons during your mission? You just go around and assume they are hateful?

Can't somebody come to disagree with something without attributing an inner motive of hate to that person?

Let's give a parallel example: If a poster was a former lesbian; and commented on a thread about homosexuality, what would you think of a homosexual poster who assumed the ex-lesbian was automatically hateful just because they now spoke out vs. homosexuality?

So then when you teach the Biblical Jesus you are turning your back on the mormon jesus.
The Biblical Jesus is eternal, the mormon jesus is created.
The Biblical Jesus is sufficient, the mormon jesus only saves after “all you can do”.
It must be very difficult explaining the difference to your Sunday school students. I know its hard and must take discipline.

The inventer of Mormonism, Joey Smith, couldnt or wouldnt live any or them...

In fact he made up his own versions against them so he wouldnt have to obey the God of the Christian Bible..

What was his problem ???

Im sure you can tell us...

I know your heart aches for not being able to live the commandments. I know its hard and takes discipline.

Do you follow the commandments 100% of the time ben? Are you perfectly sinless in your life?

DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS 58:43: “By this ye may know if a man repenteth of his sins—behold, he will confess them and forsake them.”

1Jo 1:8 KJV - If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

JAMES 2:10: “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”

Spare us the platitudes ben - everyone knows that you don't live the commandments either. You haven't forsaken all your sins ben thus you haven't repented ben - because you continue to sin.

DOCTRINE AND COVENANTS 82:7: “And now, verily I say unto you, I, the Lord, will not lay any sin to your charge; go your ways and sin no more; but unto that soul who sinneth shall the former sins return, saith the Lord your God.

So tell us of this so-called perfection you live ben - all your old sins are back on your account the very moment you sin again.

ALMA 11:37: “And I say unto you again that he cannot save them in their sins; for I cannot deny his word, and he hath said that no unclean thing can inherit the kingdom of heaven; therefore, how can ye be saved, except ye inherit the kingdom of heaven? Therefore, ye cannot be saved in your sins.

This isn't looking too good for you Ben - you're stuck with all that sin over and over again. And since you cannot keep the commandments continually you can't be with heavenly father (D&C 25:15).

Because you continue to sin ben - you haven't cleansed your self of ALL UNGODLINESS, the grace of Jesus is NOT sufficient for you (MORONI 10:32)

So what do you do ben? "Repent" every day? Joseph Smith said: “Repentance is a thing that cannot be trifled with every day. Daily transgression and daily repentance is not that which is pleasing in the sight of God.” —Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 148

So ben, while you puff yourself up with pride ("I teach Sunday school", "Full tithe payer", etc) you own scriptures reveal you as: An unrepentant sinner who will be banished from heavenly father's presence because you have not done all for your own salvation.

Reaganaut can say she is 100% perfect (Mat 5:48) because of the Jesus she serves and worships.

You can't make the same claim ben, because you don't worship the same Jesus.

Some day the scales will come off your eyes and you will see that.

Keep studying; and perhaps you'll get up to THIS part:

Galatians 3

Faith or Works of the Law
1 You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified. 2 I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard? 3 Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh? 4 Have you experienced so much in vain—if it really was in vain? 5 So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard? 6 So also Abraham “believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

7 Understand, then, that those who have faith are children of Abraham. 8 Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: “All nations will be blessed through you.” 9 So those who rely on faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.

10 For all who rely on the works of the law are under a curse, as it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.” 11 Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.” 12 The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, “The person who does these things will live by them.” 13 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.” 14 He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

The blindness and frankly stupidity of Mormons never cease to amaze me. Big deal, so you teach Sunday school? MOrmons ABUSE the New Testament, they don’t teach it. And they twist everything about the New Testament and filter it through their Mormon lenses. I know they believe that they believe the Jesus of the NEW TESTAMENT but they dont.

The REAL Jesus, the BIBLICAL Jesus...

isn’t the spirit brother of Satan...
didn’t have to earn his Godhood...
didn’t share is Priesthood....
didn’t lie when he said the gates of Hell would not prevail against his church (ie no apostasy)...
wasn’t married or a polygamist...
didn’t take on the sin of the world in the Garden of Gethsemane...
didn’t die on the cross only b/c he had to be resurrected...
didn’t use leavened bread and water at the last supper...
didn’t kill thousands on the American continent b/c they were sinners (3 Nephi)...
and didn’t set up an organization (ie the LDS ‘church’)...

So, while the LDS believe they believe the same Jesus, they couldn’t be more deceived or more wrong.
