Mel would do a good job. When he is drunk or paranoid from his bipolar illness, he is anti semetic.
When he is in control of himself, he is not.
But the real reason he is hated is because of his movie on Christ. You didn’t see an outcry of hatred when Vanessa Redgrave, a supporter of palestinian terrorists, plaid a woman in a holocaust movie. And her actions were more than a drunken comment.
I think that is an outstanding observation. I have seen people in my own life who would say the most horrendous things about certain groups of people, but when faced with an individual of that group, would give that person the shirt off his back. Those words were indeed the mouthings of nonsensical programming from his background and the culture of his time.
I agree with the importance as well, of portraying the Jewish people as you describe. It is heart breaking to ponder the lies and calumny as well as dire unrelenting persecution which these people have withstood during the centuries.

I had not thought of him being bipolar, with a genuine illness. If he is indeed that, it goes a long way to mitigating in my mind his previous misbehavior.
Bipolar disease is a terrible burden, and some people with it do indeed self-medicate with alcohol. And even without the alcohol their judgement can be impaired while suffering one of the extreme phases of brain chemical imbalance.
Some of these people are incredibly bright and creative and have much to offer, and bring to us their gifts which are all the more valuable given that they have had to walk through a particular kind of hell to get them delivered to us.

In my previous reply to you, I neglected to address your other fine point of comparison between the treatment Mel has gotten and that of Vanessa Redgrave. Definitely a double standard given the devotion of his own heart which the Passion portrayed.
Yes....people like him have to be destroyed and the MSM does their best to do just that. It is all about repetition and ‘gotcha” moments. They do it all the time. (They can destroy most people if they choose—didn’t succeed with Reagan but they formed the “stupid” perception anyhow—they tried).
They did it to McCarthy (Blacklisted by History) and they do it to anyone who hates socialism and leftist policy. They do it to people who say the truth about homosexuality (Braveheart, Bachmann, Cahtolic Church).
They (MSM) destroy anyone who prohibits their agenda of collectivism and teaching children that the abnormal isn’t normal. They want to bring our culture into the sewer like all good cultural Marxists. They are evil and mentally ill and I NEVER let MSM form ANY of my perceptions. They lie.
