Postal workers refused to deliver CDs of Bible readings after deciding they were offensive material.
Several churches had paid for discs with recordings of St Marks Gospel to be produced to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible.
They were due to be delivered to all households on the Channel Island of Jersey, but church leaders were stunned when they were told postal workers would not handle the 45,000 CDs.

Has any Post Office ever delivered anything for free unless it was from Ze Government?
Those roots, rights and liberties? Basically the same as ours. Needless to say , all we need is time.

The CD’s are offensive because there are no explosives-making instructions in them...
Live and let live. Who made them the censorship police. Very arrogant. In America we are equal under God. Each individual matters, there is freedom of thought. This is what Obama hates.
Yes, this point is not clear at all. It almost sounds like the Post Office in question originally agreed to just deliver the CD's for free, and then when they determined it might be "controversial" decided against it.
The article says the churches paid to have the CD's made, but mentions nothing (at least that I saw) about whether they paid the appropriate postage. The question I have is, had the churches paid the postage would the post office have delivered them?
Garsh, I guess should there be a national disaster over there, I won’t be sending any care packages. It might have something offensive in it, like a prayer for their safety or something. Or maybe I should go ahead and send it with a picture of the grim reaper in it and tickle their funnybone!
Not that I would be that surprised if it DID happen in the UK, but the Channel Islands are not part of the UK, they are self-governing Crown Dependencies and this stupidity is entirely on the people and government of Jersey...
On Jersey? I'd bet zero.
You’re probably right. I missed the bit about Bergerac’s turf. I loved that series. It has been a weird day here for me.
“Theyd probably agree to deliver them crawling on their hands and knees. Cowards.”
Indeed.
The offense of the cross...
A country is nothing but its people. The UK is a different country now. So is the U.S..
Nope.
Britain's government is holding its people underwater until they drown.
And its people are complying by drowning as fast as they can, and with they least amount of irritation to the invading muslims.
Remember the scene in the movie "Ghost" when the ghouls are dragging that guy to hell? That's what it's like watching Britain these days.
And they still have the cheek to flaunt a "royal wedding."
Good job, "royals."
Seriously? No, it isn’t. Jersey was under occupation by the Nazis 1940-1945
