Vatican's pact with Islam
YNet ^ | 10/2/'11 | Giulio Meotti

Benedict XVI recently visited again his native Germany, but this time with a different agenda. Five years later, the Vatican adopted a pro-Islam course and has capitulated to fundamentalists. In a recent book written by German journalist Peter Sewald, Pope Ratzinger expressed “regrets” about the Regensburg lecture. The Vatican’s Secretary of State, Tarcisio Bertone, buried the Pope's lesson about Islam as “an archaeological relic.”

“The default positions vis-à-vis militant Islam are now unhappily reminiscent of Vatican diplomacy’s default positions vis-à-vis communism during the last 25 years of the Cold War,” writes George Weigel, a leading US writer about the Vatican. The Vatican’s new agenda seeks “to reach political accommodations with Islamic states and foreswear forceful public condemnation of Islamist and jihadist ideology.”

This is NOT an excellent article. Rather, it is coupled with half-truths. BXVI continues to pound the theme of faith and reason. Islam does not allow for intellectual inquiry into the foundations of its belief. He hammers home the theme that violence in the name of God is heresy. The Church must be careful to not say things that poor and defenseless Catholics and Christians living in fear in Islamic states from Indonesia to Pakistan to Egypt will be murdered by a barbaric religion.

When the Pope criticizes Islam, Muslims murder Catholics in Muslim countries.

The Pope has now realized that a serious discussion means not debate, but blood - and like most people, he does not want to provide maniacs an excuse to murder the innocent.

Well, it looks like this Pope isn’t going to call for a new crusade any time soon. I wonder how many more “infidels” have to be slaughtered by the “musselmen” before the west grows a pair.

I am a fallen Catholic and I fall further every day.The church and my government have morphed into something to be reviled rather than revered and I’ve turned my face from them.

Yes, that is exactly what "Pope" Peter would have done. When he was met with opposition of the cruelest kind, I remember him saying "what we need here is a serious discussion so the innocent are not murdered. Perhaps I should not arouse the anger of the offenders lest I provoke them. I'll just remain silent and hope for a resolution."

FEH. We are told in God's Word that we would suffer for Christ. Anyone who is saved knows this and knows this is what can and will happen. It is a price we are willing to pay for Him and His finished work for us. To live is Christ and to die is gain.

This is a spiritual battle. And calls for those, ESPECIALLY IN POWER, to STAND and fight the good fight. NOT tiptoe away and hope for the best.

You and the rest of the armchair crusaders should feel free to go to Paki and live your words.

“FEH. We are told in God’s Word that we would suffer for Christ. Anyone who is saved knows this...”

And are you standing in Cairo in front of the Church and Christian community that was burned Friday?

Are you taking up arms defending them?

Where are in the Muslim world that you speak so authoritatively on dying for Christ?

Some “enduring to the end” tribulation saints you appear to be! Folding like a cheap umbrella. Under the guise of “peace, peace”. It’s fear, not “peace” that compels some. And it shows.

No, you have no clue about how to engage the enemy so you win. You strike when and where you can win. For now, behind the scenes efforts are worth more than overt statements. But please, feel free to make empty gestures that will do nothing.... go to Pakistan and CRUSADE. Do it. Your sacrifice will do NOTHING to defeat the enemy, but since you seem to think pointless gestures are worthwhile, YOU go ahead.

Gosh, being lectured by an comfychair missionary is like being lectured by Michelle Obama in Target.

I only skimmed the rest of the article, because it lost all credibility when it said It was the only public event in which a Pope told the truth about some aspects of Islamic religion.

Because, you know, all those medieval popes just loved Islam, especially Urban II.

Hey, I’ve got news for you. You’re going to face them at SOME point anyway. Cower in fear or stand and fight the good fight. I know what God’s Word says.

You either trust God’s Word or you don’t. Or you put your trust in an institution that tells you what to trust. And feel REAL arm-chair religion comfy.

Then, by all means, join up with your fellows and act on your words. Set an example for me and others. Please report back once you get to the middle east. Heck, you don’t even have to take up arms. Transport some bibles to Saudi and try to win souls for Christ. (oh wait, the Catholic church does DO THAT behind the scenes... so you can join those brave folks).

"Think you might be interested."

Not enough to engage in the discussion. The accusations are so profoundly false that they represent the occasion of sin. The posters involved are so totally lacking in credibility that permitting them to spew reinforces our case.

In spite of many, many, many refutations those whose minds and souls are bent continue to lie and will continue to do so in spite of anything you or I post. In other words, when you see something like this on the sidewalk it is best to not step in it.

“And feel REAL arm-chair religion comfy.”

YOU are the one on this board proclaiming dying for Christ while you sit in your missionary comfychair, boss of Coke and the football games enjoying your nice comfy indoor heat and plumbing.

Not me.

...I know not you...your leader is doing all the "standing and fighting" for Christ. Not willing to compromise God's Word for a little peace and safety. Standing firm in the Word, as Christ's "vicar" on earth. Knowing that God is faithful and knowing that we have not been given the spirit of fear, but one of power and might.

Yes, your leader exhibits all that long line of uninterrupted apostolic successors exhibited, with the exception of Peter: the ability to work silently behind the scenes to create the Catholic Kingdom of God on earth. Blessings to you. smvoice

Why don’t you armchair missionaries go to the Muslim world and just tell them to make nice and convert. Besides, reading what ONE journalist believes and interprets instead of actually reading what is news and information is just worthy of DU and every liberal outlet.

But that would not stand in the way of good bashing where the authority of the church is not recognized by any of you anyway.

Dealing with Islam is not in any way simple.

It is only simpletons who think it is.

Bless you ,my friend! Well said and you did an excellent job posting the links to back it up!
