Do you think many new converts really know this stuff? How long did it take you to figure it out? ... Some of them are really mad about being LIED to.

I just had a theory and it goes to Control of the peons.

- - - - - - - -

Depends on how you define ‘new’. Under a year? No they usually have no idea. After a year, esp in the US? Probably. After about 5 years (like Beck)? Definitely.

I started learing things like Jesus was married at about the one year mark, but I was also lied to by the missionaries (like about polygamy and becoming Gods) under the guise of ‘milk before meat’ and yeah I was mad too later, when I was leaving. When I found out though I make the excuse of ‘milk before meat’ rather than realizing at the time I was lied to. That came later after a christian bookstore owner in Provo got me mad enough to prove him wrong about some early teachings.

And your control of peons theory is spot on. Mormonism is all about ‘busy work’ and keeping the members from thinking/researching for themselves.

A couple of years ago we had a rash of MormonDude channelings, including MormonDudette, Mormon Dude’s sister, and Mormon dudes third cousin twice removed/uncle/grandfather by marriage. That got to be fun.

God bless that Provo book store owner. He did exactly what was needed, "the challenge".

That is exactly what these threads are all about, praying that some will get as mad as you and try to prove us wrong, they can't, and are not MAD enough to take the challenge, but that day will come.

As smart as Beck is, he tells us to do our research on subjects he talks about. Don't take my word for it he says, do your research. Dr. heal thyself, Beck do your research on the LDS. Didn't he marry a mormon and then converted to the cult? If so, he is not as smart as he thinks he is.

Beck is into hoarding/survival, buy food, gold, etc., this too is what I have read the mormons tell their members to do. One exmo stated they had to throw out rotten/spoiled canned goods when one of their mormon relatives died.

hahahahahahaha. What happened? you and Elsie make believers out of them or deep dunk them and hold them under to long?

Question: The Family Search site, when doing a name search and find it there, does that mean they have been DUNKED or ENDOWED? I have used that site for genealogy purposes, stupid people they have it all wrong most of the time. Don't matter to them, they would just DUNK Dumbo Murphy, anything with a name. Micky Mouse has probably been dunked.

Some of my family is in there many times, differant names mispelling etc.

PS: I do so enjoy this conversation, hope you don't mind all my queries.

We have already had at least 3 active freepers (who knows how many lurkers), come out of Mormonism and to Christ because of these threads.

Re Beck, I try to avoid him but every time I see him his comments are more ‘mormon’ and I have seen more than once him just give Mormon ‘pat answers’ and fake - like about the council of Niecea and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Not too smart for someone who tells people to do their research, IMO.

Nah we just got bored. LOL.

Re: geneology - Mormons brag about their genealogy but I discovered, when I took a geneology course at BYU, I discovered just how sloppy their records are, names wrong, dates wrong, places wrong, duplicate or triplicate entries. Its a real mess.

The LDS used to have a separate database for temple records that was only available to Temple recommend holding members (IOW very few), but it is a good bet that if the info is in family search, the work has been done already. I’m not sure about Mickey Mouse but I do know some other fictional characters have had their ‘temple work’ done.

And I don’t mind the questions at all. ;)

>>>>>>>>> That's what I have found, a real mess. Then I had to deduce those errors of sloppy work to: New members must do/or suggested they do their genealogy, they don't care, all they want is names to turn in, facts do not enter in to their thought as most of them are not really interested in the LDS anyway, and will soon be quiting, especially the young ones, genealogy would bore them.

Yeah!Yeah!Yeah! ma, I did my homework, leave me alone.

.............. PRAISE THE LORD, I wish I had been into these threads to see that. Just Praise the Lord. Thanks for sharing that, I can now go to bed on an uplifting note. Keep up the GOOD and only true GOSPEL.

See you all later, goodnight for now.

Last thing I wanted was to be scolded by YOU, rofl.

And, I do not want to scold ANYone; but sometimes you just have to!

I want the WORDS on the screen to speak for themselves; and NOT have to be 'explained' as to their 'real' meaning!

The hardest thing I've ever had to do is to 'teach' adults, who have been Christians for years, what the bible does NOT say!

The Devil has absolutely filled our minds with all kinds of things that just ain't so, and rooting them out is tough!

Bah! I learned in the Temple just what you 'teachers' do!

I'd just LOVE to hear YOUR reasoning for why Moses didn't take the unicorn onto the ark!)

No.

The lady was smart enough to know that folks NEED some king of religion in their life and won't marry him until they had one.

(A lot of stuff can fall into that GOD shaped hole if we are not careful)
