“Think about that the Jews must have said the same things when the New Testament was written.”

Think about Jesus who paid the price for our sins, died, rose, and is now Living and at the right hand of God.

Jesus, the Son of God, who fulfilled prophecies written in the Old Testament. Thousands of Jews saw this and accepted Jesus as their Savior. Jesus, who faced down Satan and paid our price for the sins we have and will commit. Jesus who performed miracles, taught, healed, and died for us.

Walking into the woods and writing your own manual is not comparable. Filling people with false teachings is contrary to God and will separate you from eternal salvation. That is from the Word, and not from Man.

"It makes me wonder what happen to the Relief Society and the priesthood which he also over sees. It is the bishop who calls these people to leadership postiion. I don’t what happen but it is not a typical ward behavior and I am really disappointed to hear this."

I'm confused..."callings" in the mormon church are supposedly direct revelation from the mormon god that these are the people he wants in those positions.

The bishop "calls" these people to these positions based on "revelations" he receives through prayer.

Are you saying that the mormon god told the bishop to "call" the wrong people to these positions?

Hmmm, is the bishop "uninspired"? Did the mormon god get it wrong?

I'll say they do. I've seen it way too many times while a member and currently in my family's ward. Apathetic and ambivalent leaders within the church abound. Scouts YW, YM, primary, etc., etc.

I recall the interviews for my "callings" pretty vividly...

"God has revealed to me that this is your "calling" in the church. It doesn't matter if this "calling" is going to interfere with your personal life, work or your marriage. This is god's will. If you reject it, you are turning your back on god, choose wisely."

Gosh Sandy, it's too bad that you apparently have poor judgment in choosing a church.

Perhaps you should just forget "denominations" and learn to become a Christian who needs only Christ.

Yep. It is sad when people do not have discernment.

There was an "anti LDS picnic" held in Utah?

Utah Binger hosted a FReeper picnic, and on the same weekend as the mormon global anti-Christian 24th of July celebration of Brigham Young's bringing Joseph Smith's sect to Utah. LOL.

I have word from a reliable source that the word "mormon" was not uttered during the visit.

Philantrophy and mormon should never be mentioned in the same sentence.

It was a FreeRepublic get-together in Utah. It wasn’t JimRobs fault that not one Mormon showed up.

Maybe Resty thinks that any gathering I attend is an anti-Mormon affair.

Are you intentionally delusional or was this a joke? Why would a group of people join together for several days to celebrate the out doors, the beauty of Utah, and enjoy the freedoms of American talk about mormonISM. My goodness it appears you are either paranoid or lds are as full of themselves as they appear be.

We invited Resty. She missed a glorious time. A couple of TBM’s threatened to come until they found out CC was carrying.

And Resty missed out on the fabulous New York Steaks. No milk before the meat though.

And as I recall the words Mormon and/or Mormonism were never mentioned. We had lots of other things to deal with including the Sunday morning meeting and the fabulous leader Jim Robinson in our midst.

This next summer we are going to make certain to avoid the July 24th date. Too many Mormonite covered wagons out there driving like Mennonites.

I’m so scary, what with my right to bear arms.

When I left Mormonism I found I had a right to bare arms too! ;)
