Latino Bishops: Undocumented Immigrants Are Not Criminals [USCCB / Archbishop José Gómez]
Fox News Latino ^ | December 13, 2011 | NewsCore

Posted on 12/13/2011 6:17:19 AM PST by Alex Murphy

The archbishop of Los Angeles is among a group of Latino bishops from throughout the US to have called for undocumented immigrants to be seen as a "revitalizing force" -- instead of as criminals.

The group of 30, including Los Angeles Archbishop José Gómez, released a joint letter vowing to work for immigration law reform, the Los Angeles Times reported Monday.

[SNIP]

"The lack of a just, humane and effective reform of immigration laws negatively affects the common good of the United States. We promise to keep working to bring about this change."

Try telling that to Mexico’s own immigration service, José. You are aware that Mexico’s immigration service isn’t nearly as kind or gentle as the INS, eh José?

Deport Illegals AND "Latino Bishops" to their native countries.

Latino Bishops may serve their "illegal flock" in countries where they are NOT breaking the laws of their unwanted host countries.

I have a better idea, Jose: move to Meh-he-coh to show your solidarity with the illegal invaders, and take them and your other leftist clerical buddies with you.

We don’t need them or you.

It seems that tribalism trumps everything. I suspect that these “latino bishops” are more devoted to their ethnicity than they are to God.

Let's just treat "undocumented" Mexican immigrants the same way Mexico treats "undocumented" US immigrants, Jose.

What do you say?

Laws created in the Congress of the U.S. by people that have been lawfully elected to represent the citizens of the United States of America are what’s illegal in 2012.

Prepare for war.

"revitalizing force"

Putrid, racist, communist, nonsense. The only thing illegal Mexicans are interested in "revitalizing" is Mexico.

Los Angeles is run by "latinos" and it is a pile of puke in decline.

I think it should be proposed to these bishops that the church does not support illegal aliens as much as it should in their native countries. So they, the US bishops, should send money to their peers in those countries, so that these illegal aliens could return home to greater prosperity.

"What ever happened to sticking to our spiritual needs."

Damage wrought by the infusion of "liberation theology" I think. And again, tribalism seems to be a factor in many cases.

I wonder if Archbishop Gomez would consider an “undocumented houseguest” in the rectory to be a “revitalizing force”.

Were all the Irsh immigrants criminals?

Were all the Italian immigrants criminals?

Were all the Canadaian immigrants criminals?

Why do you continue to single out the Hispanic population? Are you prejudiced against them?

**“Los Angeles Archbishop José Gómez, released a joint letter vowing to work for immigration law reform**

You must not be aware that Archbishop Gomez became a citizen the RIGHT way. He studied, took the test, pledged allegiance to the United States.

I think that is what he wants to do here — get Hispanics to do it the right way instead of sneaking in illegally.

The Most Rev. Jose H. Gomez, was born on December 26, 1951, in Monterrey, Mexico, the son of Dr. Jose H. Gomez and Esperanza Velasco, both deceased. He has three older sisters and one younger sister.

He was born in Mexico what do you expect him to say. Where does he get off preaching to the native born Americans? Or even to legal immigrants who have jumped through all the hoops and paid thousands in fees. Is this clown even a US Citizen?

The prime factor is he was born in Mexico. Here is someone born in Mexico telling Americans what to do

First off the ArchBishop is obviously not an illegal alien. I knew this before saying anything here. A very public man like him will not be an illegal alien. So then he must be legally here. He could be a legal resident or a citizen. You say he is a citizen?

What you don’t get is that this is irrelevant to me. You are missing the most important factor, that he is a Mexican advocating that illegal Mexicans here get legal status and if more illegals come, they get legal status too. Prove to me he is not a Mexican. He was born in Mexico and to me this makes him a Mexican. Perhaps a Mexican-American. Are you telling me he has renounced his Mexican citizenship? I doubt this

They are lying, blatantly, by saying people who have admittedly broken US Laws, are not criminals. It is a major Commandment of the faith they purport to adhere to: ‘ .Thou Shall Not LIE’! Their souls are excommunicate in their professed link to the Holy Spirit. Hypicrts and Pharisees of false faith.

Here is someone born in Mexico telling Americans what to do

And that's the crux of the matter. Mexico - and Mexicans - want to tell Americans what to do: they want to rule us.

And they have discovered a weakness that is exploitable: use racism accusations to prevent resistance to their demographic takeover, and eventual seizure of the apparatus of government.

Don't ask me. Ask them. That's what they say out loud.

No one seems to call them on it.

He just got off the banana boat. He is not an American as far as I am concerned even though he might have finagled citizenship by now. Some immigrants become real patriotic Americans but not him. This pompous arse of a bishop has one foot in Mexico and one foot in America. The Catholic church is a world church that has no respect national borders. None. But individual Catholic Americans do

They are also lying about Archbishop Gomez.

I don’t support illegal immigration. I do support immigration doing it the way he did. Study, take the test. Pledging his allegience to the United States. Speaking English. ETc.

That’s what bugs me is they are lying about him.

It is a bit unseemly for a naturalized citizen, who has benefited from our country's hospitality, to try to take charge of our home and invite in all his cousins – but I will let that pass. I don't think Archbishop Gomez is moved so much by Mexican nationalism as he is by institutional interests. As I've written before,

You are quite dense. Archbishop Gomez was born in Mexico and still behaves like an invading Mexican. He does not behave loyally to America. Most Mexicans keep their Mexican citizenship after scamming their way into getting American citizenship. It’s a rotten situation that you are too dense to figure out
