Slow down just a little and take your meds, You know how much you hate it when they strap you to your bed. Perhaps the Viking Kitties would like to pay you a visit.

Joseph Smith, Jr. was actually convicted of swindling people by claiming to use seer stones to find buried treasure. He later started a religion by . . . claiming to use seer stones to find buried golden plates. Coincidence? Yep, pure coincidence! /s

If you want to take a very narrow look at the Bible with a very narrow interpretation to affirm your churchs teaching and can’t honestly look at the evidence before you, then I can do no more. Any further discussion with you is pointless. I will shake the dust off my robe and leave you to whatever it is you church wants you to believe.

Y’know, you could also ask where it is commanded to change the sabbath day to Sunday.... ;-)

BB, what i am telling you is the biblical, historical and orthodox Faith received from the Apostles.
you choose to follow a 19th century heretic named Ellen White, who is as much a false teacher as Joseph Smith.
when i ask for NT verses that teach Christians are to keep the 7th day sabbath, you provide verses that contain the word “sabbath”, but don’t teach to keep the 7th day sabbath.
you can dust off your robe all you want, but please understand this:
Jesus Christ is our sabbath, we rest in Him.

It wants us to believe what Christ and the Apostles and the Apostolic Fathers teach us, not what any lunatic with a third grade education and a soapbox happens to believe on this, a Monday morning.

Yesterday; I was the second of four that did exactly that; telling how and when we accepted the Gift of Salvation.

That is called giving your testimony, Elsie.

You use circular reasoning and affirmation bias to pound the table to say your church is THE church and it cant be any other way regardless of what the Scriptures say
You hit the nail on the head and summed up onofob posts perfectly.

***since there was no controversy. only after some reformers questioned some books in the OT,****
Eusebius had some interesting thoughts on those questionable OT books. It is found in his ECCLESIASTICAL HISTORY.
He ranks some of them right along with THE SHEPHERD OF HERMAS which he considered OK for moralistic reading by new believers, but not sacred scripture.
Shucks! By his Eusebius’ standards they STILL beat the BOMormon by a country mile!

I went to an “Eminent Gleaners” banquet at an LDS church many years ago. Food, entertainment, LDS officials then asked the young people there to give their testimony as to why they joined the LDS church. The response was...
Friendship, comradeship, good social programs, ect. NOT ONE of those young people said they joined the LDS because they were lost in sin and needed Salvation through Jesus Christ. Not one. They considered the LDS to be more of a social club than anything else. I went to their church services in two different parts of the country. They were exactly the same. First, prayers, songs, bread and water communion, NO PREACHING or expounding on the Scriptures. Then we broke up and went to the classes. Expounding on Mormon doctrine. in one it was a study in their welfare organization. In the other it was how they would all go back to Jackson County Missouri when Jesus returned.!

usually the devil is more devious when bringing forth a false gospel, mormonism is such a joke that we must conclude the devil was having a bad day when he was inspiring Joseph Smith.
you have to cut him a break though, he was certainly busy in the 19th century with false gospels ( mormons, christian science, seventh day adventist, jehovah witnesses, christadelphians, etc )

no cicular reasoning required.
once one realizes the Church is the Body of Christ on earth, that it is the pillar of truth, that it has authority from Jesus directly to teach and baptize, it all makes sense.
if one continues to look at the Church as a human institution, like the rotary club, then one looks at it’s doctrines as circular reasoning.

Joseph Smith, Brigham Young In that group you can add Islams Mad Mo and Ron Hubbard. They all started a religion with the idea of personal sexual gratification, greed, and other Earthly desires. False prophets? They were not prophets but con-men.This was one of the top dozen or so Lds discussion threads of 2011:
