If you want to live in a Theocracy, I'd suggest that you do the same. You'd fit right in in Iran or Saudi Arabia. I'll bet you'd be at the head of the line to join one of their Committees for the Preservation of Virtue and The Prevention of Vice. You'll probably look really good in a Burkha.

That's what you want after all. Isn't it? Well we'll live the way we damned well please whether dried up old busybodies like you approve or not. As long as we aren't directly harming anyone else the way me and my family choose to run our households is none of your business.

It is extremely degrading and wife abuse to make your wife do that.

I don't "make" my wife do anything, pal. She does it because she enjoys it, because she knows it brings me intense physical pleasure. And I do the same for her, as often as I possibly can.

I have no problem kissing her goodbye every morning and hello every evening.

I'm also a military veteran of the USMC. Now, tell me now. Right here and to my face that you think I should have gone to prison for it.

So if there are unwed mothers, then polygamy should be ok? Sort of like saying, if we let someone off for robbery, then murder should be legal. Makes no sense.


The last time i checked, Robbery and murder was against Gods laws, you may have heard of the ten commandments? most people seem to have heard of them but are so busy making their own laws that they do not have time for them.

Well, lets see you posted Bible verses and said it may only be wrong for one person not another.

The implication is that polygamy is ok with God.


You should read the story about Abraham and Jacob, that is where many Christians heritage comes from, do you see anything that indicates that God was angry with them?

Typical (and actually often LDS) response to polygamy. God never commanded it, nor did he approve. All of the instances of polygamy turned out badly (usually following after false gods) and all were man’s idea, not God’s.

You think it is alright for a man to have more than one woman as long as they are not wives?, that would be adultery would,nt it?

There are some really sicko people on here. News stories like this seems to bring out all the loons and louts. I wish they’d all crawl back under whatever rocks they slithered out from—they are not fit for civilized discourse.

Well said. I have been involved with ministry and helping ex-polygamists that I have no tolerance for those people who think its ok.

If they think it doesn’t harm anyone, and doesn’t matter, I dare them to try to spend a week at YFZ or Hilldale/Colorado City.

Bountiful is an interesting story. It used to be Jeff’s ‘reducation’ camp, but right after the YFZ raid, there was a split and half the town went with a new prophet (apparently the divide is right through town) who allows Monogomy.

The reeducation camp was moved (possibly to South Dakota but we don’t have any firm proof of that just a lot of suspicion and educated guesses). And yes, South Dakota is looking for ways to shut them down and get them out of there.

The last I heard, Bountiful, while still a polygamy colony is moving away from Jeffs (to still another prophet) and has settled down a bit. To be honest, I don’t think the changes are as real as they appear, it has to do more with their attempt to get polygamy legalized in Canada.

No, i didn,t dodge any question, it is so obvious that it should not have to be ask, and the only reason it was mentioned by you was because you need to divert the discussion.

You are the one saying that polygamy is evil, so either show me where it says so in the Bible or else admit that you do not know where it says it, and that maybe it don,t say that at all.

If you think it is evil i don,t have no quarrel with you but why bring the Bible into it unless you can prove what you say by scripture.

Huh, forgot about that reference. However, the story doesn’t end there. How did the angel of the Lord refer to Hagar? As Abraham’s wife or something else?

Reality is that Hagar was a concubine - not a true second wife.

Did God ‘bless’ what Sarah suggested and Abraham implemented? No, just like there are other actions of people in the bible (such as murder, theft, etc) doesn’t imply God endorsed the behavior/action now does it.

Jesus made things very clear in Mt 19 In repudiating divorce Jesus expands upon the topic and states “ 9* And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.”

Note, under the eyes of God they remain married, therefore to marry another constitutes adultery. One man - one woman, not one man - multiple women OR multiple men - one woman.

Do you have some other citation that states otherwise?

even Abram doesn't recognize Hagar as his 'wife'

Even God doesn't recognize Hagar as Abram's wife.

perhaps you still need to read the bible more.
