Please don’t talk about “gay theology” if you’re in the RCC.

The rcc seminaries are infected with it.

Theo could be bothered to ping you to this comment, and I just wanted to see if this was true.

“There’s plenty of anti-Protestant slander and bigotry on this thread.”

How do you dare to say that, knowing that God hears you? There is not one scintilla of anti-Protestant slander or bigotry prior to your note. (I qualify my statement because I haven’t read to the end of the thread.)

I’ll take the guidance of the translators of the NASB, NKJV, KJV etc etc any day of the week.

“The rcc seminaries are infected with it.”

That was a part of Satan’s 20th century attack on the Church. However, the situation is better than it was, and is continuing to improve.

That aside, it is a logical error to think that a person has no standing to condemn evil—ever, for any reason.

Over the Vulgate and the Douay-Rheims?

That’s a mistake.

Did you think I was lying when I said that I’ve been “anathematized” by Roman Catholic FReepers?

I am interested in some backup for your broad brush comments. (Note ping to Cronos per forum protocol that you ignored)

Your post caught my attention because what you say you have experienced is not borne out from what I see on the threads.

Not really interested in reading your posting history. I have been damned to hell on this board and I certainly can remember who did it.

He writes it like he read it out of a tract. He rings hollow. If he knows it is now a waste why not show the silly nonsense involved like the knee pad bit you brought up if true.

I have been reading all different view in books all my life. In My Humble opinion his true heart of the life presented is absent. It reads wrong with the no humanity(true to life what he is suppose to experience) in it. My mother was a private writer but occasionally a small article in a small magazine. When she wrote it was really from the heart. You knew it was true. A writer about own experiences conveys this personal truth. Where a writer screws up is when he tries to convey something outside their own lives. This article is classic feel of this manner.

Also remember He claims to be a priest. Everyday the priest does a homily at daily mass. Most priests if you read there writings are good. This Priest(?) does not show the proper characterization of a priest happenings thru his story. He writes like a zombie. No real everday life add-ons to make it true sounding or like a real truth. Remember do not fall in love with the story because of the scripture. He did not write that of course but zoom in on his pure writings from experience. They fail in genuine feel of living the life. That's all.

Whether the words mean “again” or “from above”, a spiritual regeneration MUST occur for salvation, and it does NOT happen at baptism. It is by grace, through faith.

The Bible disagrees with you:

1 Peter 3: 21This prefigured baptism, which saves you now. It is not a removal of dirt from the body but an appeal to God* for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

Matthew 28:1919h Go, therefore,* and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit,

John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God"

Luke 7:30 But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit"

Acts 10:48a And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord

Romans 6:3-4 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life

Now you may say that other things are required, but the one constant is that baptism does play at part in salvation.

Ah! We’ve received a new comment in this very discussion that says I’m not a follower of Christ because I’m not Roman Catholic:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/religion/2828283/posts?page=97#97

Put yourself in my shoes for just a moment. Do you see how I’d be upset by the arrogance of those who damn me because I’m not a member of their particular denomination, because I’m a mere Bible-believing Christ-follower?

Sure, I may disagree with some RC doctrines, but does that mean I’m unsaved? Really? Is my degree of salvation directly related to how my doctrine lines up with the Roman Catholic Church, or is my salvation related to my relationship with Christ?

I am not Roman Catholic.

I do not consider the Eucharist to be the literal flesh and blood of Jesus.

I do not talk with Mary.

I do not submit to the Pope or the Vatican.

Now tell me: Am I in full communion with Christ? Do you consider me “outside” His body? Do you consider me missing out on the fullness of life in Christ?

If I try to encourage others to believe as I do, about Mary and the Eucharist and about the RC hierarchy, do you consider me anathema?

Must be nice being sinless. Or not. I guess you don’t need a Savior if you’re sinless. The Apostle Paul was not sinless. He had daily need of a Savior.

Sinless? Please reread my post. After the Savior forgives our sins, he says "go and sin no more" even though he knows we may fall again. "Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; obey it, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you." Rev 3:3

So we must seriously try to obey in order to repent properly. Even if we fall into sin again, we must keep getting up and repenting to remain ready for the end. If we do, then at the end we may say with Paul "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Tim 4:7

To stop repenting and resisting sin is to quit the race.

Oh, and no-one's attacking you. Folks just point out how you can benefit by reading the Bible.

If one has a victim mentality and keeps saying "oh, they won't share communion with me" while at the same time insisting that the communion does not have the True presence of Christ, that's kind of contradictory. Note that even Lutherans who believe in the True Presence of Christ in the Eucharist as in WELS have a closed communion.

No one curses you for your beliefs -- you want to reject God's word in John 6, go ahead, it's your choice.

Theo, if you recall a specific post on a prior thread where you have been personally accused, then let me know by Freepmail.

Do not make this thread "about" individual Freepers - that is also a form of "making it personal."

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

Gay theology was invented by Protestants. But your rebuttal is more of an ad hominem attack.

I’d beg to say that things are starting to turn around.

Gay theology is considered a heresy the Church’s magisterium.

You can’t rebut that Gay theology is a consequence of the Protestant teaching on grace.

"I do not consider the Eucharist to be the literal flesh and blood of Jesus."

that is your own personal interpretation. Lutherans, Anglicans, Catholics, Orthodox, Assyrians and Oriental Orthodox would disagree with you. Now, if you want to have us respect your personal interpretation of what you've read, why not respect our own interpretation of scripture?

isn't it arrogant to do otherwise?
