60 Minutes does a hatchet job on the Roman Catholic Church

An Irishman named Diarmuid Martin says the Catholic Church in Ireland has reached a breaking point, a crisis that he says results from the sexual abuse of children by priests and the cover-up by the Church. Martin has provided tens of thousands of pages of evidence against specific priests, and his words and actions carry extraordinary weight. That's because Diarmuid Martin is the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Dublin. Bob Simon reports.

Who you calling “kiddo”? I’m 41 years old and I have arthritis in both knees and I get AARP mailers in my mailbox.

Just speculation, but its probably the communists behind the homos who are just using the homos to destabilize and destroy our society. Probably something along the lines of Adolf Hitler’s use of the SA in the 1930s- its leadership was largely made up of homosexuals and when they were no longer useful Hitler purged them. The homos are useful to the left to accomplish their mission; after that, they will be sacrificed when convenient. Until then, the homos will be protected.

Right on cue from George Soros, the White Hut, Bill Ayers and all the others monstrosities we’re up against. I say ignore them. They aren’t worth the notice. They have ZERO crediblity.

It’s becoming clear. The strategy is this. Radicalize the homosexuals, who are unbalanced and so make this easy. Reward them with recognition for becoming the frontline in the culture wars. Destroy the family and the church and erase all freedoms with the Radical Queers leading the charge. It’s brilliant really. I see the bisexual Bill Ayers behind this, as well as George Soros. Why else would he hire David Crock? Sandra Slut Fluke, an obvious Lesbian, is part of this strategy. But now that we know what it is. We have to fight fire with fire. Call them out on every point. Fight back in every venue. This is WAR! The enemey must be not just defeated by annihilated.

Something around 40+ percent of all total abuse cases are committed by those known to be homosexual. This includes laypeople, not priests. Men and women.

If their proponderance in the general population is the same as in the general population at 2 percent of men, what does that mean for the incidence ratio?

It’s also not uniform. Law, Weakland, Mahoney and Hunthausen saw about 80 percent of all the cases in the US. Hunthausen was so bad that Pope John Paul removed him in ‘86 and put Weurl in.

The numbers in the diocese of Seattle are just shocking, they had the most in all the US, something around 2x anywhere else, including Los Angeles.

Some 30 to 50% of seminarians are homosexuals so what else would be expected except predation on the flock?

Crushed? Hardly - I don’t think you’ve heard the last of the Catholic Church...or other churches who clearly can see where this will lead if not reversed.

The offending priests are mostly homosexuals. If the Church is at fault, it is that they tolerated what the Church always condemned until the 1970s, and aimed, like the Boy Scouts, to weed out the “nervous” seminarians. Then came the crisis, when so many of the clergy turned away from the pope when he issued “Humanae Vitae,” the verdict against changing the Church’s policy toward contraceptions, which really was an indictment of the whole sexual revolution and a prediction of the devastating consequences if society accepted it. Many priests who thought that the Church owed them a wife and who had been assured for years that the Church was about to abandon the celibacy requirement, jumped ship. However, this was only a part of it. It was a revolt against Rome and the episcopate. With ranks repleted, the Church did what the Army did during the ‘70s. They accepted inferior men and went easy on the inferior men already in their ranks. Entire seminaries soon were “Pink,” and men who rejected advances or seemed otherwise too orthodox were weeded out. Much the same was going on outside. The liberals and their gay allies were much puffed up. The accession of John Paul II slowed but did not rule back the tide, at least quickly. The whirlwind was reaped when the priest scandal broke.

Which explains why some areas had much worse problems than others?

Look at the numbers yourself. You’ll see what I’m saying.

I don't know where you're getting that number from, but I suspect it's much lower now than it was from 1965-1985.

Of course it's hard to construct an infallible test to detect homosexual tendencies. But Rome has said over and over that males with strong/predominant homosexual tendencies, even if they are living chastely, are not suitable for priestly ordination.
