Today at 5:30 p.m. members of “ACT UP” and other anti-Catholic groups have announced they will descend on San Francisco’s Mission Dolores Church and place ashes from AIDS victims on the landmark church’s steps to protest what they claim is the complicity of the Catholic Church in the deadly epidemic.
Mission Dolores was founded on June 29, 1776, the feast of Saints Peter and Paul, by Franciscan friars under the leadership of the Fr. Francisco Palou and the direction of Fr. Junipero Serra. It is the oldest Catholic church in the Archdiocese of San Francisco, and the oldest building in San Francisco. In addition, the mission is “the oldest original intact Mission in California,” according to the church’s website. The parish includes Mission Dolores Basilica and the Old Mission.
An event listing on the LGBTQI/Queer page of San Francisco’s IndyBay Media, a radical leftist website, reads, in part:
“The march will link the issues of gentrification and lack of affordable housing faced by people with HIV/AIDS and our communities today by starting at Wells Fargo, a major profiteer of the housing crisis. The march will continue to the steps of Mission Dolores Church, marking Good Friday and protesting the Catholic Church's continued role of condemning people to die of AIDS globally and repression of sexual freedom and health here at home -- by blocking access to condoms, and restricting access to reproductive health and abortion. Ashes of those who died during the epidemic in SF will be placed on the steps of Dolores Church… Its [sic] 25 years since we started ACT UP and the Catholic Church is still to blame.”

Aids became a deadly epidemic because liberals had removed the laws against homosexual acts and the perverts went wild spreading it around like candy......
And then people wonder why Islam is spreading.
These “Act Up” should read the books of Acts.
“And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Acts 2:21)
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)
The book of Judges ends with: “In those days there was no king in Israel; and every man did that which was right in his own eyes.” Judges 21:25)
Isaiah 1:18 reads: “Come let us reason together, saith the LORD........”
“For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience shall many be made righteous.” (Romans 5:19)
“For He[God]hath made Him[Jesus]to be sin for us who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.” (2 Corinthians 5:21)
“How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard Him;” (Hebrews 2:3)
I cannot understand the “logic”. Anyone following the teachings of the Church can be assured of never getting AIDS.
So I am to believe they have been saving up ashes of people who died of AIDS? Sure.
They are blaming the organization that tells them not to do what they do to get aids. The Catholic church could close down tomorrow and the rate of AIDS would not change at all.

And how many people have been saved from AIDS by following the teaching of the Catholic Church? Or any other Christian church?
In other words, they’re saying, “I have AIDS because I couldn’t follow Christian teaching and I need someone else to blame.”
Homosexuality should be cured - then AIDS will never be a problem again.
aids is 98% preventable.... do not have unprotected anal sex and do not share needles.... personal choice (unless an infected person has sex with an uninfected person) and then protection will virtually eliminate the chance of infection...if these two simple things were done, aids would be wiped off the face of the earth in less than a generation..
Plus, I fail to see how even the deluded minds of the gay leftists managed to work “access to abortion” into their AIDS related complaints.
But abortion is the sacrament of the left, so I guess it sort of makes sense in a way.
How do these people get to this point in their thinking? It certainly isn't because they follow the teachings of the church.

want to see smoke come out of their ears in anger? Mention the fact that circumcision in Africa cuts HIV transmission.
Then mention that public health studies show that condoms don’t work to decrease the HIV rate in Africa, but that anti retro viral medicines do, because it cuts down the number of viruses in the bloodstream so people are no longer infectious.
And then, for good measure, mention that a lot of Catholic hospitals are involved in giving out these retroviral medicines (including the nuns in the hospital where I once worked) and that it was president Bush that made giving out these anti HIV medicines a priority and pushed the funding.
We think alike- I guess the Scriptures are right we are one body ,guided by one Spirit-serving One God. Though I am not a Catholic— I linked to the full story and commented there much as you did here. Those that are of the flesh cannot understand the things of the Spirit. Those caught in that web of homosexual deceit are blinded by their choice of sin over life.And will blame the church for their own choice to rebel against God.
The same folks who claim that AIDS is not a gay disease still cling to it as a core issue.
I would say that AIDS became such an epidemic because liberals NORMALIZED homosexuality and its sexual mores (sodomy) with the added fuel of drugs.
I always wondered why that particular group of people, young homosexual men, NEEDED all the drugs if their "lifestyle" (anonymous, promiscuous fornication a la sodomy) was now the norm. Truth be known, they KNEW it was wrong and needed all the drugs and booze to do it. They sure paid the price.
So right.
One might add that the AIDS in Africa is in the heterosexual population, passed on via women prostitutes.
And, that drug addicts aren't the issue either.
The Catholic Church is also the driving force behind hospices here in the USA, hospices ALSO for the PARENTS of the dying men who come to be with the sons with AIDS.
These hospices that provide the final meals for the men say that they want the meals they grew up with: meat loaf, beef stew--back to their innocent youth.
All very sad to see people living with the consequences of their sins. It's not new but still sad.
