Georgetown University Invites Kathleen Sebelius to Give Commencement Address

WASHINGTON, D.C., May 4, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – The Catholic university at the center of the HHS mandate controversy has invited the mandate’s sponsor and chief Catholic advocate to address graduates who plan on going into politics.

Georgetown University, an historically Jesuit institution, has announced it is inviting Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to address the commencement of the Georgetown Public Policy Institute on Friday, May 18.

The invitation of the militantly pro-abortion Catholic is buried as the next-to-the last announcement on its list of speakers.

Controversy has engulfed the campus since an alumna, Sandra Fluke, became an outspoken advocate for the HHS mandate.

Sebelius admitted before Congress last week that she had not consulted any Supreme Court decision on religious liberty before promulgating the HHS mandate requiring religious institutions to fund contraception, sterilization, and abortifacient drugs without a co-pay in their health plans.

In addition to her role as chief enforcer of the controversial edict, Sebelius had a lengthy history as a pro-abortion governor of Kansas.

Georgetown shows how much it is concerned about the threat posed to religious freedom by the HHS mandate by inviting Sebelius on campus to preach. Perhaps an honorary doctorate is in order here?

Oh yes and.....er....Cardinal Wuerl? Will you be pressuring the college to withdraw the invitation in the same fashion that Bishop McManus blocked Ted Kennedy's widow from speaking at a Catholic college in New England?

Let's see if you react to this outrage with the same alacrity you showed in throwing Fr. Guarnizo under the bus.

GU and Sebelius — a marriage made in hell.

(I wonder what St. Ignatius of Loyola will have to say. Does GU know who St. Ignatius is?)

Hopefully she will be passing out contraceptive devices afterward.

There is no such thing as a “militantly pro-abortion Catholic.” If you are pro-abortion, you are not a Catholic.

Maybe she can do a little “show and tell” with some films or late term abortions funded by the taxpayers through her corrupt department. She might want to give a look to the future with Obamacare controlled death panels, eugenics, sterilizations, postpartum abortions, etc. I’m sure she could do a good dog and pony show. Might want to have Pelosi and Slow Joe on hand to demonstrate the future under her vision.

Of course, I doubt if any of the audience would have the same gumption as the high school students that marched out of the auditorium when the bully queer gave his tirade.

I enjoy searching for memorable Commencement Addresses. One keeper is Ronald Reagan at Notre Dame (1981)

Georgetown long ago traded its Catholic identity for the cache that comes from being the premier, modern, elitist university in the capital of the secular empire

Georgetown became a cino University a long time ago. The Pope should issue a blanket ex-com to the lot of them.

This on top o their faculty issuing a protest against having Paul Ryan speak? I’ll remember this the next time they ask me for a donation.

Cardinal Wuerl — you have a call on the white phone.

It’s like trying to fight a war while well known traitors in your army’s uniform are allowed to praise, advise, and sell secrets to the enemy in front of everyone and then publicly say it is both a good thing and they are heroes for doing so. Just gives the impression that the war must not really be a big deal to the generals when you get right down to it.
