Father,You have told us that when we ask we are to believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. You said to Your Children, "If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all." Please teach us to stand firm, Lord. Christ Jesus, before You rebuked the winds and the waves, You asked Your disciples, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Lord, we want to fully embrace that the One whom the winds and waves obey is the same One who watches over us, Your children in this nation, and all our American Heroes. We do not want to hinder Your works on our behalf over a lack of faith.

Sovereign Lord, Your Word says, "This is the one I esteem; he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word." Father, we can hardly imagine being someone You esteem, but we sincerely want to be! Make us that kind of a people through the power of Your Holy Spirit, Lord. You said to Your servant, Daniel, "Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them." You are our God just as You were his. If we set our mind to gain understanding and to humble ourselves before You, You will hear our words and come in response to them. In Jesus name, we pray, Amen
