Adam's death was because of sin and cannot in any way be equated or compared with Christ's death on the cross so he is not a "type" of Christ.

I've got to chip in and call you on this one, GN. Seven_0's point was not opinion. The supporting, unchallengeable text is:

"And so it is written, The first man Adam was mde a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. ... The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven" (1 Cor. 15:45, 47).

When you think this through, what has the Holy Ghost said? Note that "written" (grapho) is in the perfect, passive, indicative. Once written, it stands forever. This is a very important lesson.

Respectfully --

I still don't believe that Adam is a "type" of Christ.

Adam's death was because of his own sin. Christ's death was for the sin of the world.

There really is no equating the two. I don't see that Scripture as supporting the idea that a man who died because he was fallen and because he sinned is a "type" of the sinless, perfect Christ.

Adam ate the fruit knowing that he would die. He choose to die, he choose to sin, the operative here is choose. And here he is like Christ.

As for Joseph being a type of Christ, Scofield says that the analogies are too numerous to be accidental. I don’t believe that there are any coincidences in God’s word. The type is there, but the meaning is up for discussion.

Any time you find something in scripture, you can be certain it was put there deliberately. Being inspired, all scripture is profitable and significant. I have read arguments that justify the irregularities in the irregular acrostics.

You quoted 1 Corinthians 15:45, and 47 in a previous post. Lets look at verse 46
1 Cor 15:46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
How often do we see this rule in Genesis? Cain is the natural man. Able is the spiritual man. Esau and Jacob, Zarah and Pharez (here the spiritual man would try to manifest himself early but the natural man would be given his place) and of course Ishmael and Isaac.

Isaac has a double connection to Christ as a type. The phrase Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is used about thirty times in scripture and corresponds to the trinity.
