Prayers for Edith Schaeffer
vanity

Posted on 07/28/2012 6:50:29 AM PDT by ReformationFan

PRAYERS FOR EDITH SCHAEFFER: Udo, Dan and several others have informed me.... "We just recieved word that Edith is in very poor in health and may be near passing. Also, in the interest of being mindful of the family and their privacy we will withhold releasing anything more news right now until we confirm what information we have. Please pray for Edith and the family, and for traveling mercies for those who may require travel in this time. If others are at more liberty to post additional information I invite you to do so as you feel comfortable. To all: I am sure your prayers are appreciated."

I learned this off facebook. Please pray for Mrs. Schaeffer. Her late husband's work has had a great influence on my faith.

Born in 1914. Loved reading the early family letters, With love, Edith: the L'Abri family letters 1948-1960

It’s also a good opportunity to pray for her son, who seems to have lost his mind.

Praying..I met her a few times,(with Francis) in the ‘70’s..Edith is an extraordinary lady.

I've read her book, “L’Bri” more than a few times, but, her book “THE TAPESTRY”..how God has sovereignly worked through various people in their lives, is one of the best biographies I've ever read..highly recommended, if you can find a copy.

My fiancee’ stayed at L’Abri for a time in the 70’s and became very close to Francis Shaeffer and his wife Edith. They had a big influence on him and he is going to be very sad to hear this news.

He certainly has gone off the deep end. Maybe this will make him think clearly.

Lord Jesus, be near Edith in the hour of her trial.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, amen.

O Lord,
support us all the day long of this troubled life,
until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes and the busy world is hushed,
the fever of life is over and our work is done.
Then, Lord, in your mercy,
grant us a safe lodging,
and a holy rest,
and peace at the last,
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
AMEN.
